Think about the video “History of the World in Seven Minutes” that we watched in class (go to
Mr. Fordham’s website to review it if necessary) and answer the following questions.

1. The first stone tools were made as early as 3.3 million years ago. The Agricultural (Neolithic)
Revolution occurred around 11,000 years ago. What can this video teach us about the impact of
the Agricultural Revolution based on this timeline that it shows? (5 points)
The Agricultural revolution sparked a lot of change in mankind. Before the revolution,
people hadn’t changed very much, but after the A.R. We started to make massive
discoveries and develop at a super fast rate.

2. Describe the differences between sedentary farmers, pastoralists and hunter-gatherers. What
kinds of interactions do you think these three groups had? (This is a two part question, so make
sure you answer both parts!) - 5 points

Sedentary Farmers grow food, Pastoralists raise herds and control flocks, and hunter-
gatherers wander around hunting and gathering food. Sedentary farmers may have
helped to provide some of the food the pastoralists ate and gave to their flocks, and the
hunter-gatherers could have been hunting after the flocks and food they are growing, so
some conflicts could have come from that. But, they could have also traded amongst the
three groups.
