Course Description:
This is a practical course which oIIers an opportunity to learn, apply and practice principles oI
interpersonal communication in daily liIe. Emphasis is placed on psychological, social, cultural
and linguistic Iactors which aIIect both interpersonal and inter-organizational dealings.
Course Objectives:
1.
To improve the student`s communication skills necessary to be a competent
communicator.
2. To improve the student`s understanding oI day to day Iunctional use oI language.
3.
To increase the student`s understanding oI communication skills leading to successIul
behaviour in business setups.
4. To increase the student`s written communication in a proIessional context.
5. To apprise the students with social etiquettes and manners.
6. To acquaint the students with importance oI non-verbal communication.

Note: Throughout the course the teacher will stress upon the importance oI extracurricular
reading oI books and magazines. Students will be encouraged to watch TV channels Iunctioning
in English, listen to live speakers on the internet and to speak English outside the classroom.
Attendance Policy:
Attendance is extremely important in the course. Anybody with less than 75 attendance will
not be given any marks/ evaluation.
