› General Introduction When starting CaptaVision+ for the first time, a biological or industrial
application option box will display. Select the desired application type to finish launching

Where supported by the camera, the user can choose standard (8 bit) or high (16 bit)
bit depth. Bit depth is the number of levels in a channel and is noted as the
exponent to 2 (i.e. 2n). 8 bit is 28 = 256 levels. 16 bit is 216 = 65,536 levels. Bit depth
describes how many levels can be distinguished between black (no signal) and white
(maximum signal or saturation).
Default bit depths: Monochrome cooling camera: 16 bits; USB 3.0 color camera: 8
bits; USB 2.0 camera: 8 bits (16 bit not supported)

Image Adjust: Background Correction
➢ Flat Field Calibration: In microscopy applications, live and captured images may

CaptaVision+ allows users to set the grid properties on the image according to need

Jpeg image format size can be preset in CaptaVision+. When Jpeg is selected as the image
