Resume Verification Guidelines


2024-25

IMPORTANT:

PT Cell holds the right to ask for verification in case of any doubt or if any
malpractice has been brought to its notice. If any discrepancy is found, strict
action shall be taken against the student by the placement cell.

Companies will have the right to ask for verification regarding the same upon
joining. If any discrepancy is found, strict action shall be taken against the
student by the placement cell along with any action taken by the company.

Mentioning names of any individuals is not allowed (Exceptions include


naming professors under research internships and projects)

Scholastic Achievements will require verification. (Irrespective of them being


related to institute activities or not)

Extracurricular Activities: mentioning any experience that entails a rank or is


held at district level or above will require documentation proofs for verification.

Professional Experience:

Industrial Internship:
For showing any completed or on-going internship in an industrial setting, it
should be backed by an o"er letter/certificate of completion provided by the
firm having the firm’s letterhead, and attested by a Manager along with a
stamp head of the manager.

All qualitative and quantitative work along with the duration of the internship
mentioned in the resume must be explicitly verified by the intern
guide/manager.

A mail (via the Placement Portal) from the o#cial company email ID will be
considered as proof for all mentioned resume points.

Absence of either o"er letter or mail verification will lead to no points being
verified.

Research Internship:

All quantitative and qualitative work mentioned in the resume must be


explicitly verified by the professor in charge of Intern/Project/Research
indicating project title along with start and end date.

A mail (via the Placement Portal) from the o#cial professor’s institute email ID
will be considered as proof for all mentioned resume points and internship
completion.

Internship Certificate is insu#cient proof for writing points related to


internship, no points would be verified on the basis of that.

Note: PT Cell holds the right to undertake authentication of the company


o"cial in case of any discrepancies.

For mentioning Letter of Recommendation (LoR) in Resume:


Letter of Recommendation point should mention the designation of the issuer.

a) Letter of Recommendation should have the company’s letter-head signed by


the o#cial. “Letter of recommendation” with “student name” should be
explicitly mentioned on the letter and the signature of the o#cial providing the
LoR. If it is not on the company letterhead, there should be a company seal with
the signature of the company o#cial.

Else

b) Letter of Recommendation point is to be separately verified via the


Placement Portal by the issuer of the LoR (via External Point Feature).

Positions of Responsibility
(Gymkhana/Department/Hostel):

The verification should come from the immediate higher authority (For
example, Convenors must get a verification from their respective Manager).

Instances of falsified information will be dealt seriously and both responsible


parties will be subject to disciplinary action. Accountability rests on the
verifying authority.

Key Projects:

Club Projects: While mentioning project which are done under programs (such
as Finsearch, WiDS, SOC, SOS or any other club’s program), it is required to also
mention the name of the club/program in the resume, and the respective club
managers can directly approve the resume point

Course Projects: Projects done as part of a course, the name of the professor
should be mentioned and it must be explicitly mentioned that the project was
done as part of a course requirement. i.e. The words “Course Project” must be
mentioned.

Academic Projects: Professor can directly approve the resume point via the
Placement Portal (via External Point Feature).

Self-Projects: Git repository or project report/documentation must be provided


for the verification of Self Project (The link of Github repository, should be
uploaded in comments section). The words “Self Project” must be mentioned.

Start-Ups:

To mention the start-up as a firm, and yourself as the Founder (or co-founder),
it must be registered with the Ministry of Corporate A"airs (MCA) as an LLP or
Pvt. Ltd.

Else,

The start-up has to be explicitly mentioned as an Entrepreneurship Project. The


Entrepreneurship Project must be supported with the help of documents like
email approval or Letter of Recommendation from SINE faculty, industrial
professionals from the concerned field or some other authority or vendor
related to the project.

Any Monetary figures (revenue, funding etc) can be quoted with the help of
bank statements and/or funding grant documents.

Minors and Honors:


Either of the two combinations below will be acceptable for mentioning minor
or honors point:

1. One course completed from the basket as M or O tag respectively


2. Two courses belonging to the basket are both tagged as ALC/Elective or one
ALC and one elective.

Online Courses:

50% of the course curriculum of the online course must be completed


(including assessments/quizzes) and the proof(screenshot/certificate) must be
attached.

Courses Undertaken:

Mentioning of the ongoing courses and upcoming core courses are allowed with
a special mention with an asterisk.

Research Papers & Patents:

Patent/paper number or acceptance mail or link (DOI number) is accepted as


proof.

The Journal/Conference paper, acceptance mail or paper number or link (DOI


number) is accepted as proof.

International Exposure:

To label any event as International Exposure, you must have visited the said
country physically for that event. Relevant proofs need to be attached to prove
the same.
