11. Personal statement/further information.
Please use this section to tell us about yourself and your reasons for wanting to study this course.
Please continue on a separate sheet if necessary.
My name is Nguyen Ngoc Huong, and I am a passionate and dynamic student with an interest in the world of
marketing. My enthusiasm particularly lies in the realms of content marketing for educational institutions. Today, I am
excited to introduce myself and share the reasons behind my aspiration to join the BSc Marketing Management Top-up
program at the University of Northampton.
After high school, I embarked on an enriching academic journey by enrolling in a collaborative bachelor's program
between Foreign Trade University (FTU) in Vietnam and the University of Northampton in the UK. I was exposed to a
diverse curriculum that integrated both theoretical knowledge and practical applications in marketing. This combination
allowed me to develop a strong foundation in key marketing principles while also gaining hands-on experience through
various projects and internships. That said, the comprehensive education and diverse experiences I have gained have
laid a solid foundation for my future aspirations.
During the first 2 years of studying at FTU in Vietnam, I worked at Amsernest, an English coaching business. I am a
member of the academic team, with the main task of supporting students in the study process. This invaluable
experience has not only been instrumental in shaping my career aspirations but has also served as a stepping stone
toward becoming a business owner. Moreover, I am proud of my achievement in IELTS with the score of 7.0. This
enables me to research deeper into English to provide more insightful lessons to my students.
My ultimate goal is to found an English center in my hometown. Growing up in my hometown, I realized that access to
quality English education was limited, which often restricted my peers and me from fully exploring global opportunities.
My vision for the English center is rooted in that - provide high-quality, accessible, and engaging English education to
all members of my community. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students of all ages can
develop their language skills, boost their confidence, and broaden their horizons. By combining West and East
experience, I believe I can contribute to the development of young generation in my hometown.
The BA Marketing Management program at the University of Northampton is instrumental in preparing me for this
endeavor. my first two-year study has fostered critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills—essential attributes
for running a successful educational institution. Through research projects, group discussions, and presentations, I
have learned to analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions. I believe that comprehensive knowledge and
innovation from the program will equip me with sufficient skills to realise my dream.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to further my studies and make a positive
impact on my community through education.
