ABSTRACT
This is the era of computer, as we know in every sector, we use computer. A computer-based
Transportation Tax Management System is designed to handle all the primary information
required by the Transport management office. Which includes the information of vehicle
owner, registration date, Ownership transfer, tax paid etc. This project intends to introduce
more user friendliness in the various activities such as record updating, maintaining, searching
and reporting. The searching of record has been made quite simple as all the details of the
vehicles can be obtained by simply searching vehicle number. This system provides fast,
efficient, reliable and User-friendly interfaces in Transportation Management. This software
provides a good user interface such that a user of basic computer knowledge can operate the
application. It also reduces effort done by the office staffs and also reduces the time
consumption. This software enables easy maintaining of records like new vehicle registration,
payment of tax, calculation of fine for delay renewal

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

1.1 Introduction
The project entitled “Transportation Tax Management system” is a computerized system that
provides the facility to manage the large amount of data of vehicles. We know that large no. of
people uses the means to transportation for traveling and exporting and importing goods in
day-to-day life. As population increases the management of transportation vehicle will be
difficult. To solve that type of problem the Transportation Tax Management System is being
developed. This system will reduce the workload of Transportation Management office staff
and maintain the computerized data which will be more reliable, efficient and easy of maintain
the records.

This Transportation Management system will allow user to register new vehicle, Transfer the
ownership of vehicle, calculate the tax and fines, check the details of vehicle and vehicle owner,
modify the details and searching of vehicle. Our software will perform and fulfill all the task
that any transportation management office would desire related to vehicle’s.

1
1.2 Problem specification

As we all know in the existing system the recording of vehicles is done only manually but in
proposed system, we have to computerize all the records using the system called Transportation
Tax Management system. The main problem that are in existing system are:

• More man power requirement.

• Time consuming searching of previous records.
• Needs manual calculations of taxes.
• Uncomfortable management of records.
• Old unorganized system of record keeping.
• High chances of human error
To avoid and remove all these problems and make the working more accurately efficiently and
reliably the system needs to be computerized.

2
1.3 Objective
• To fulfill almost all the process requirements of Transport Management Office
• To increase the productivity by utilizing the working hours more and more, with
minimum manpower.
• To digitalize the records of Transportation Management Office.
• To Improvise and enhance the data safety.

3
1.4 Methodology
We follow the Agile system development life cycle approach to complete this project. This
methodology proposes incremental and iterative to design the system. system phase is
organized in a linear order. To develop this project, we follow the stage of this approach.

CHAPTER 2: ANALYSIS

2.1 Requirement analysis

We have gathered the entire requirement related with the field of Transportation tax system,
we also studied the different types of report’s available in various sources for the requirement
gathering, interpreting facts, diagnosing problems and the information which are recommended
for the improvement of the system.
We also analysed the system requirement which the system most fulfil, such as new data entry,
tax calculation, reports generation, updating data etc.

5
2.2 Feasibility study

Feasibility study is the measure of the development of a project weather it would be beneficial
to an organization or not. so, in this phase, we study economic feasibility, technical feasibility,
schedule feasibility and also about the legal feasibility.

2.2.1 Economic feasibility

In this study, we analyzed about the cost needed that has been needed to develop this project.

2. Internet surfing 1000
3. Documentation 1500
4. miscellaneous 1500
5. Total 5000

6
2.2.2 Technical Feasibility

The technical feasibility can be divided into two section-hardware and software. To decide the
technical feasibility. We use the software and hardware component as follow.

2.2.2.1 For Development

2.2.2.1.1 Hardware Recommendation’s

* Computer or laptop

* RAM (Minimum 4 GB or Above Recommended)

* Hard-Disk (Minimum 128 GB or above)

* Minimum screen resolution (1280*720)

2.2.2.1.2 Software Required

Front End

* Operating system: Windows 7/8.1/10 or above

* Visual studio IDE

Back End

* MySQL

2.2.3 Schedule Feasibility

The project schedule has been designed as per requirements and contains involved. This project
is schedule to be completed in about 3 months. In this feasibility

we study about the time taken to complete the analysis, planning, designing, coding and testing
also about documentation and final presentation.

2.3 System analysis

In this phase we analysis about the system in field of the Transportation Tax Management
system and we have seen some drawbacks in this system.

So, to overcome the drawback of this system also to add some new features, we have analysis
about our new system.

10
CHAPTER 3: DESIGN

3.1 System design

In this phase we can design the general concept or flow of our system. we study about the
stakeholder related to the Transportation Tax Management System app.

The conceptual design of this application is as shown below:

CHAPTER 4: CODING AND TESTING

4.1 Coding and testing

After the design of the Transportation Tax Management System. Our next phase is coding and
testing phase. For the purpose coding and testing we use Visual Studio IDE. In this Integrated
Development Environment, we use Visual basic programming language which is based on .Net
framework. For testing unit testing and integration testing is used in iterative manner as the
agile method suggest.

12
CHAPTER 5: CONCLUSION

5.1 Conclusion

The system that is developed is fully computer-based system aimed for efficient and effective
use of time and resources and also for efficient, effective and error free management of records.
This system will be delivered after it’s complete development with the full project report’s and
complete ‘Transportation Tax Management System’.
