Changes In ‘Pakka Telugu’ App

Improvements to Frontend:

1. Add a 'reload' button with the refresh/reload function. Place

this to the right of the hamburger menu. Use a ‘circular arrow’
icon with the same colour scheme as the ‘Telugu/English
Switch’.
2. Add ‘Like, Comment, Report and Share’ for ‘Stories’: Currently,
the like, comment, report, share strip at the bottom applies to
all the posts in the app except for stories. When we open
stories, this disappears. We want this to stay there and give the
ability of liking, commenting, reporting and sharing each
individual photo inside a story.
3. The shared photo/video story should be shared like a
WhatsApp forward, the receiving user should be able to
view/download the entire photo/video. A link should also be
sent to either open the app or download the app (depending
on new/old user). This exact functionality already exists for
‘Advertisements’ section.
4. Provide the option to add 'clickable links' in 'Stories' with an
option to add a button with customizable text depending upon
the topic.
5. When we share a news post, it should show the “entire post
with photo and news” together (like it is in the app) with a link
to download the app. In this, a strip should be added between
the photo and the article heading. This strip contains ‘Pakka
Telugu logo’ and text. This is a special feature for a news post
that is shared. (This ‘strip’ will be provided by us. No need of
‘category’ and ‘time ago’ in the screenshot.)
 Below are two examples of how this strip looks for English
and Telugu.

6. Change the App 'icon' and 'splash-screen' to the new ones.

(image files provided by us)
7. Change the App ‘icon’, that is currently displaying in ‘Play Store’
and consequently in the App Store. (the same file we provide
for point no. 5)
8. In ‘Push Notifications’ increase the size of the font, and
increase the size of the app icon. (same file as point no. 5)
9. Separate 'Push Notifications' for Telugu users and English users
based on what language the user has 'currently selected' in the
app.
10.Separate ‘icons’ for ‘Stories’: The circles that appear on top
should show a separate image in the circle before we open the
story. Currently, these circles show the same image that the
‘Story’ contains inside it as the circular icon.
11.The text that appears under the ‘Story’ circles, i.e., the heading
of the story, should be in Bold text. Currently, it is too slim.
12.Remove the ‘!a జ$ %ార(ల*/Latest News’ text at the top and
replace it with the “Text Logo” of Pakka Telugu. (Image file will
be provided). It should look like this.
Improvements to Backend:

1. Create an option to add [multiple images or upload 1 video] or

[Embed multiple YouTube videos], that can be scrolled
sideways, like an image carousel. The user should be able to
play and watch any such YouTube video in the app itself.
2. Create the option to give push notifications for ‘Stories’ and
‘Advertisements’ as well.
3. Add the ability to schedule 'news posts', 'Stories' and
'Advertisements'. It should have ‘Start’ and ‘End’ options with
both Time and Date. Through this, the writer decides when
exactly a post will be published in the future and when in the
future it will be unpublished/killed.
● Along with this, all these types of posts should have the
option to schedule a push notification for when they get
published.
4. Create an option to add a separate title for 'Push Notifications'
(in place of the existing headline which will be inside the app).
In here, give the option to change text colours for each word in
the title of the push notification so as to attract the attention of
the user in their phone’s notification centre. (A colour palette
option would be ideal)
5. Separate Dashboards for 'Telugu' and 'English'.
● Create a ‘Super Admin’ that can access all the areas in the
backend.
● The Super Admin should be able to create users with
permission to access either Telugu Articles or English Articles
or Both Languages as an option. All these logins created by
the Super Admin should not have the ability to create new
Categories. (Only super admin can)
● The logins created with ‘Only Telugu’ option should be able
to access only Telugu News, Stories and Advertisements.
● The logins created with ‘Both Languages’ option should be
able to access both the Telugu and English News, Stories and
Advertisements.
● The logins created with ‘Only English’ option will be able to
access only English News, Stories and Advertisements.
Note: Here the ‘Both Languages’ login option is needed because the
English Writers need to access the Telugu Content before they
translate and publish it. For their convenience, this method is the
best option. The Social Media team will also be using this login type.
6. For uploaded video files in ‘News Posts’ turn the autoplay
option ‘OFF’ by default so that we can turn it on when we need
to use autoplay.
7. In ‘Stories’ add the ability to upload separate images as the
‘icons’ that would appear in the circles before we open a story.
(backend operation for point no. 9 in frontend).
8. For news posts, give an option to display the label “Trending” in
place of “5 mins ago”, “2 hours ago” etc for a specific amount
of time as set by the writer.
● The writer should be able to decide which articles to enable
this ‘Trending’ label and for how long (in minutes and hours).
● This option should be in the form of a button while writing
the article, just like the button for push notifications.
● When this button is turned on, then a time drop-down
should appear where the writer can select the number of
minutes or hours this label should continue showing.
9. The push notification button is currently in the ‘publish/edit’
area for each post. Additionally, provide a push button in the
‘list of articles’ area, from where we can easily push any
‘published article’ that we want to push.
10. Add the option to conduct polls in the ‘Advertisement’
segment: A question is framed, then options are added one
after the other, with small image icons. In the frontend, when
the user votes by selecting one option, the results are
displayed to them.
11. All the published articles that were pushed as push
notifications, should appear in the article list in ‘blue colour’
like in the below screenshot. Note: This is so that English
writers know exactly which news to ‘push’ without the need to
check elsewhere. See this reference:

12. News, Stories, and Ads menu order for Super Admin, follow the
menu order as given below:
- Dashboard
- News
- Categories
- Stories
- Advertisement
- Introduction
- CMS Pages Telugu
- CMS Pages English
- Report Categories
- Contact us
- Activities
- Locations
For ‘Telugu Logins’, it should be in the order
- News (Only Telugu)
- Stories
- Advertisements
For ‘Both Language Logins’, it should be in the order
- News (Both English and Telugu)
- Stories
- Advertisement
Errors and Glitches:

Frontend:
1. Currently, both in the News Posts and Advertisements sections, in
the Android version, uploaded videos do not have scrubbing
controls. Please provide the seek bar with which we can forward or
rewind the video.
2. Currently, in the iOS IPA version, the Telugu font in all sections is
glitching out for words like ‘నూ5s’. Fix this.

3. Currently, in the Android version, the Telugu headline font for

‘News Posts’ is not our preferred choice. Change this to the Telugu
font ‘Ramabhadra’. (Only for headline)
4. Sometimes the app closes before it opens when we tap on the app
in our phone’s home screen.

Backend:
1. 'Push Notification' articles are taking too long to submit.
2. Sometimes while publishing they are giving error (504). These
articles are getting 'published multiple times' in the app and giving
'multiple push notifications'.
3. Provide Paste With Right Click (Mouse) and 'Search the selected
text with Google' options in the description box of ‘News Articles’.
These are missing right now.
4. Still the website link when we share an article.
5. Push notifications not working in iOS version.
6. Some articles are randomly doubling without any reason.
