Are you a researcher in East Africa working on vectors and vector-borne diseases with
a draft proposal that you're looking to develop into a full proposal for a specific call? Join us
for an intensive grant writing boot camp on July 1 - 6, 2024, designed to provide you with the
skills and support you need to refine your proposal. We have limited spots for the boot camp
for optimum interaction with mentors in the vectors and vector-borne diseases field. We will
base our evaluation of your participation on strength of your motivation letter, letters of support
and availability of draft proposal. This boot camp is supported by the Biotechnology Research
Institute (BioRI) of Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO), in
collaboration with Yale University in the context of our program on Support for Vector Biology
Training for Sustainable Control of Vector Borne diseases in East Africa program with support
from the National Institutes of Health, Fogarty International Center, Global Infectious Diseases
Research Training Program. The workshop will be hosted by the Dairy Research Institute,
Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization, Naivasha, Kenya. We are offering
limited awards/sponsorships to participants. We strongly encourage you to apply. Applications
are due by June 16, 2024 (but with rolling acceptances, early application is encouraged).

• 1-paged motivation letter
• Evidence of PhD
• Evidence of draft proposal
• Letter of support from your institution
• Letter of support from your current supervisor/mentor

• Individualized feedback and support from experienced mentors
