Paragraph 1 & 2

Task:1 (15 Minutes)

Objective:

1. The learners will be able to infer the theme of the text.


2. The learners will be able to express their thoughts fluently.
3. Learners will be able to identify pictures related to different sports.

The teacher will begin the class with some questions:

1. Do you like to play any sports/game? Why/Why not?


2. If yes which sport would you like to take up?
3. Why do you prefer this sport?
4. Who is your favourite sports person? Why?

Teacher will show some pictures related to any sports and learners have to
identify to which sport it is related.

• Teacher will ask learners to respond and identify the games and sports?
• Then she will show learners another picture and ask them to guess/tell all
these equipments belong to which sport/activity?

• Teacher will ask some question related to the second picture


1. To which sport all these equipments belong?
2. Is it as safe as other sports?
3. Do you know anyone who likes/want to climb mountains?
4. Do you ever heard about any mountaineer? If yes where?
After the discussion over the Questions mentioned above-

Teacher will show learners two photo of Santosh Yadav and ask them if they
know about her. Teacher will give small introduction of her.
Task:2 (10- 12 Minutes)

Objective: The learners will be able to read the text with conceptual understanding.

The learners will be asked to read the given text silently. They will be given a
worksheet to fill while reading the text. Teacher will give them clear instruction
about to fill the worksheet.

The learners will be asked to read the given text silently. They will be given a
worksheet to fill while reading the text. Teacher will give them clear instruction
about to fill the worksheet.

In the chapter the Santosh Yadav wrote a letter to her father, Imagine you are
Santosh Yadav. You are feeling uncomfortable abou5t enrolling yourself for
climbing without seeking your father’s permission. Write a letter of apology to
your father politely explaining you situation.

Hint box:
• Why you are not coming to home?
• Express your guilt for not taking the permission.
• Tell how much mountaineering is important to you.

4. How she is a source of inspiration for others

2 learners will be selected randomly and the selected candidates will be given an opportunity to
present their speech in front of the class the next day
