Important Note: Classroom observations are a sincere effort by FEI management keeping the following important outcomes in mind.
The lesson observation and subsequent feedback discussions with the respective teachers must lead to
1. Improvement in student learning in the classroom and beyond
2. Improve in teacher professional skills
3. Identify the training requirements of the teacher and plan PD sessions using that information
4. Improvement in overall quality of teaching learning in the subject curriculum for the grade and in the overall schooling experience.
Guidelines for lesson observation
1. This tool may be used by different assessors such as school leadership teams, colleagues/peers teaching the same subject or mentors
2. This tool must be considered for analysing the data and hence must be complete in all aspects not leaving any blanks especially rating.
3. Fill in the tool by observing a full lesson for the entire period it is planned for
4. Fill in the tool sitting behind the students or to any one side without disturbing the teaching learning process
5. Write comments for each question that will help you discuss your feedback clearly with the teacher after the lesson
6. Give feedback to the teacher immediately after the lesson or within one or two working days maximum
