DP – Continuous Professional Development
NOTICE
All Vessel Officers,
As I am sure many of you are already aware, all DP certificates will need to be revalidated from 01 January 2024.
Those whose DP certificates need revalidation next year will have their certificates extended by 12 months, to
give them time to complete 2 modules and gain the necessary DP time.
Engineers will, for the first time, now be included in the revalidation of DP maintenance certificates.
For each of the 5 years leading up to revalidation, Officers will be required to work through 2 modules each year
and pass the assessment and gain the DP time necessary for the revalidation.
IMCA have been working with the Nautical Institute and have released their DP Operators Key Personnel App.
The App is linked to the Nautical Institute and allows the user to record their training as well as work through
the modules. The modules can be worked through off-line if needed.
To register, and pay for the App, you need to go to the Nautical Institute Alexis website :

The App costs £100 per officer per annum.
Fletcher are willing to pay this cost on the following criteria:
• This applies to permanently employed Officers only
• New joiners will only be eligible after 6 months permanent employment
• Each Officer will be required to sign an Agreement with their employer:
o Fletcher Shipping (Guernsey),
o Aquaculture (Guernsey), or
o Fletcher Marine Crew Series
This agreement will state that, if Officers leave within 3 years, then the Employer has the right to
reclaim any payments made in respect of the DP CPD process via the Payroll.
• Expenses should be processed through the Vessel as normal and will be paid at the next applicable
payroll after receipt of expenses in the office
• Only expenses for payments made for the App after 01 January 2024 will be accepted, and only once
confirmed by Guernsey that a signed Agreement is in place.
