The force system applied to an angle bracket is shown in figure 1. Determine the magnitude,
direction and line of action of the resultant force from point A.

A composite bar of uniform cross-section area 200mm2 consists of an aluminium section rigidly
fastened between a bronze section and a steel section as shown in figure.10. Axial loads are
applied at the positions indicated. Determine: the Axial load P(kN) to make it in equilibrium,
Stress in each section and the total change in length of the bar.

figure.16 and is kept from rolling by an inclined string of length 1000mm. A bar AB of
length 1500 mm and weight 1200 N is hinged at A and placed against the cylinder of
negligible weight. Determine tension in the string.
