REQUIREMENTS
CAUTION
• When carrying out maintenance and testing work, take into account:
- The product-specific safety information in the document,
- The security information in RA0-000,012.... in the cover record
POLYMOBIL Plus, as well as
- The safety information contained in the ARTD Part 2.
• Tests and adjustments that must be performed with radiation ON, are
identified with the radiation warning symbol.
WARNING:
When working in the open system, there is a danger of shock! electric!
• The capacitor bank may be charged. Do not try to work on the system
while this condition exists.
• After turning off the system, approximately 350 V could still be present in
the system, even after disconnecting the voltage plug from line. After 10 minutes
the voltage will reduce to approximately 10 V.
• Always measure the actual present voltage with the DVM at the -VCC point test
and + VCC on the D 960 inverter board or (more accessible) on the D 970 inverter
board capacitor at the + connection point of capacitor C3 and on the right side of
fuse F3 (see. Fig. 1).
• V1... V10 of the LEDs in the D 970 go to a significantly higher level of voltage
and therefore are not reliable indicators of safety.
• If a fuse has opened in the D 970, a high voltage may still be present in the
affected capacitor, even after an extended period of time.
• The capacitor discharge circuit uses the D925 board, CS and LS relays. Yeah
connectors X3 or X9 on D 925 and D 950 are not inserted or if there is a defect in
the circuit, the capacitor bank will not discharge.
This may cause life-threatening voltage may be present in the system. even after
an extended period of time.
• See also the chapter "Replacing the capacitor bank."
1–4 PREVIOUS

Charging frequency
Connect the oscilloscope to D 950 at TP "FR1" and "GND".
Fig.2
Fig. 3
The charging current depends on the current line voltage and the state of charge (capacitor
voltage Uc) of the capacitor bank.
Fig.3 shows the charging current in standby mode, that is, when the capacitor bank is charged.
5–4
MEASUREMENTS
Capacitor voltage (Uc) and charging time
In the Reveal-Ready state, the capacitor voltage is approximately 350 V and can be measured at D
950 TP "VC". If the device is shut down due to overload, the "ERR" signal is output on the D950.
CAUTION: The capacitor voltage can be measured at TP "VC" only if the POLYMOBIL Plus
is turned on.
The charging time depends on the remaining charge of the capacitor bank and the available mains
voltage, for example with 230 V maximum. Charging time is about 15s. In the worst case, (line
voltage <100 V and residual charge = 0 V), charging time may take 40 seconds.
For the next measurement, the mains voltage is 230 V and the residual load is 30 V.

MEASUREMENTS
DANGER: Before starting, follow the following instructions, you must discharge the
capacitor bank, because high DC voltage can endanger life. Check the actual load with
the DVM.
• Turn off POLYMOBIL Plus and wait until the capacitor voltage has reduced to a value <10 V.
• Disconnect the cable from the inverter to the C1 capacitor and push the cable through the 50 A:
50 mA current transformer (with a parallel resistor of 10 ohms) and connect the cable again.
• Connect the oscilloscope to the current transformer.
• Turn on POLYMOBIL Plus.
• Set to 60KV, 10mAs on POLYMOBIL Plus and make the exposure.
CAUTION: The maximum frequency of the main inverter can only be measured in the
rising part of the high voltage, that is, in the first microseconds, because afterwards the
frequency is lower .

MEASUREMENTS 5
– 13
Measure filament nominal value
The filament rating is set at the factory and should not be changed.
The filament rating can be measured at D915 of TP "JRS" and "GND" with the DVM and is at 1.5V ±
4% in standby mode.
NOTICE: If this value is changed, the nominal values for preparation and exposure are
also affected.
Fig. 13
If this is not the case, adjust P5 in D915 until the minimum current is exceeded from the exposure.
Heating while waiting for exposure is adjusted by P5 ( ˄ >IH ˅ , < ˄ IH ˄ )
Fig. 13 shows the correct configuration.
In Fig. 14 heating in standby mode is too high.
In Fig. 15 heating in standby mode is too low.

Fig. 15
Fig. 16
Assessment:
• Measure the deviations (X1, X2, Y1, Y2) between the edges of the light field and the radiation
field on all four sides, corresponding to fig. 17.
• Calculate the total deviations in the X and Y directions (without taking into account the sign).
Fig. 17
• Deviations in length (total of Y) as well as deviations in width (total of X) must be less than 1.6
cm, respectively.
5 – 18
MEASUREMENTS

• Remove the four mounting screws and insert it into the threaded hole and tighten it
(Arrow/Fig.3).
DANGER: This is a safety device to prevent the unit arm from flying up if the transport
lock lever is inadvertently activated.
Fig. 4 Fig. 5
Collimator replacement
In case of damage, the collimator has to be completely replaced.
Proceed as follows:
• Remove the two screws (5/Fig.5) and remove the back panel.
• Mark the 5 collimator connection cables and disconnect them.
• Remove the two screws on each side (6/Fig.5) of the top cover.
• Turn the two buttons to the final position and remove them.
• Remove the front panel after removing the two screws (7/Fig. 6).
Caution: The front panel is connected to the collimator via a cable (7 9/Fig.).
• Remove the collimator after removing the four Allen screws (arrow / Fig. 4/5).
• Place the new collimator with the four screws (arrow / Fig. 4/5) and the center of it.
• Reconnect the cables and rear panel.
• Check the coincidence of the radiation fields and adjust the light and, if necessary.
