Number System

1. Sum of first ‘n’ Natural Numbers = 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + ... + n = n(n+1)/2

2. Sum of square of first ‘n’ Natural Numbers = 1^2+ 2^2 + 3^2 +... + n^2 = n(n+1)(2n+1)/6
3. Sum of cube of first ‘n’ Natural Numbers = 1^3 + 2^3 + 3^3 +... + n^3 = {n(n+1)/2}^2
4. Sum of first ‘n’ Even Numbers = 2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + ... + n = n (n + 1)
5. Sum of first ‘n’ odd Numbers = n^2

Dividend and Remainder

When a number a is divided by number b, a is called Dividend and b is called Divider. The number of
times dividend is divided by the divider is called Quotient and the amount remains at the end is
called Remainder. Remainder will be zero (0) if Dividend is absolutely divided by the Divider.
