METHOD STATEMENT

WORKPACKAGE Inspection of Installed Screw Piles

Description 1. INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this method statement is to demonstrate the methods and procedures to
be followed to carry out the construction of inspection of installed screw piles on the
project in a safe manner, in accordance with approved and controlled methods, to
demonstrate thorough and thoughtful understanding and approach, all of which are in
compliance with applicable standard, codes of practice and program specifications.

1.1 PROJECT BACKGROUND


The Project consists of the deployment of DC Solar Farm Facility which is ground mounted
solar Photovoltaic (PV) within the 196.419 hectares property.

1.2 Aboitiz Olongapo 221.0851MW DC solar photovoltaic project is located in Olongapo


province Central Luzon Philippines.

Marked as shown in the figure below our area is Block 1 to Block 24.

B.1. Manpower

QC Engineer (1) - submitted IRF/ Internal arrangements for inspection.

Site Engineer (1) – is responsible for the execution of the works detailed in this method statement. Moreover, this
role will be responsible for instructing the foreman/superintendent about requirements of the contract, including all
restrictions, safety regulations, scope of work, and time schedule. Additionally, related materials delivery, equipment
needed and all matters related to HSE and the quality of the works will be under the responsibility of the site engineer.

Safety Officer (1) – is responsible in assisting the construction team in developing safe methods of working and
monitoring the implementation of the controls as required. This role also ensures the compliance of all control measures
at site as per approved risk assessment plan and checklist as per HSE Plan. Moreover, this role also ensures that permits
are submitted and checked prior to conducting the activities specified in this method statement.

D. SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT, & SECURITY


General HSE Issues on Method of Execution:

1. Enclose the construction work area with safety warning tapes and set up safety warning signs outside the
construction work area;
2. Plan to configure safety protective equipment:
2.1 Long-sleeved T-shirt;
2.2 Safety helmet
2.3 Reflective vest
2.4 Safety shoes;
2.5 Safety goggles;
2.6 canvas gloves;
2.7 Dust mask;
2.8 Dry powder fire extinguisher;
2.9 Raincoats, rain boots, and rainproof cloths are provided as needed;
3. 3.Establish contact with local hospitals before construction, and equip the construction site with anti-mosquito, anti-
Heatstroke medicines and first-aid kits.
4. Set up the work area to promote a good posture during inspection.

2: Keep walkways, paths, and walk areas clear of clutter. Mark wet areas or stripping-prone areas.

4: Raincoats, rain boots, and rainproof cloths are provided as needed to prevent rain from causing workers to
get sick.

6: Establish specific areas for screw file storage, clearly mark and place signage for storing the materials.
7: Conduct housekeeping before and after the working hours. Barricade and place warning signs for the
material storage/ and protruding screw file.
8: Ensure Workers wear personal protective equipment such as hard hats, working uniforms, safety goggles,
high visibility vests, and safety shoes/boots.

Site Inductions / Training:


Before the commencement of any works, all site personnel involved with this operation will have received a
site- specific induction. Through training, increase workers' safety awareness, and reduce the occurrence of
various risks.
Awareness / Training also shall be conducted to operatives involved in the activity but not limited to:
• Permit to work (No Activity to proceed without a valid work permit)
• Manual Handling
• Excavation Safely
• Manual Digging

E. WORK PACKAGE ACTIVITIES SEQUENCE


E.1. Work Package Activity 1
1: Submit the IRF
2: EPC internal test
3: OE randomly selects the table number for acceptance on the drawing.

1:OE to the site to check the selected table, the main inspection items are as follows

Step 1: Check the distance between piles with a meter, including north-south and east-west. Step 2: Check the exposed
length of the screw pile with a meter.
Step 3: Check the verticality of the screw pile with a level bar.
Step 4: If 10% of the random sampling table has failed, check it again from the new random sampling of five tables, if
there is still have some tables no passed, then one by one acceptance.
