ANSWER SHEET

Using these datasets, you perform a CORRELATION ANALYSIS using the guide
questions below:

1. What is the value of the Pearson r? refer to table 3

2. Is there a significant relationship between the online learning support and student
satisfaction? Determine whether the correlation is significant using an =0.05.

3. Fill-in the table below and provided discussion.

Using =0.05, determine if there is a significant correlation between student

satisfaction and online learning support. Following the five (5) step procedure in
Using hypothesis testing, we have:

STEP 1. State the Hypothesis

Ho: r =0; (The correlation is zero or there is no significant correlation between

the student satisfaction and online learning support.
H1: r  0; (The correlation is not equal to zero or there is a significant correlation
between the student satisfaction and online learning support.

Step 2. Specify the Decision Rule

Degrees of freedom n1+n2-2. Using the t-distribution table, with = 0.05 and 58 df, the

tcrit=2.0017
STEP 3. Calculate the test Statistic

STEP 4. Make a decision

Since the 𝒕𝒄𝒂𝒍= 7.948 is greater than the critical t-value (t = 2.0017), hence,
crit
we reject the null hypothesis that the correlation is zero.

In summary, the calculated t-value exceeded the required value for significance
at the 0.05 probability level. This will led us to say that there exist a real correlation
between student satisfaction and online learning support.

STEP 5. Interpretation
This means that there is a significant relationship between the online learning
support and student satisfaction

Discussion

Reflected in Table 4 is the correlation matrix of the student satisfaction and

online learning support. The result revealed a (positive, negative) and (significant, not
significant) relationship between the student satisfaction and online learning support (r=
0.832219 or [low, moderate, high, very high] correlation) and the hypothesis was tested
at 0.05 level of significance. Hence, the (rejection, non- rejection) of the null hypothesis.
