6) Ethylene helps in ripening of fruits.

33. A) Aim : To prove that heat is liberated during respiration.
Materials required : Germinating seeds, thermo's flask.

Procedure :
1) Take sprouts in a thermo's flask.
2) Close the flask with single hole cork.
3) Insert a thermometer through the hole of cork.
4) Take care that the bulb of the thermometer should be dipped
in the sprouts.
5) Record the temperature for every 2 hours.
Observation :
Temperature in the thermometer is increased.
Result : It is proved that during respiration of germinating seeds
heat is released.
