2873046 - There is no HOLD button in Purchase Requisition


Component: MM-PUR-REQ (Purchase Requisitions), Version: 4, Released On: 19.04.2022

Symptom
There is no 'Hold' button if a Purchase Requisition is created in transaction ME51N.

Cause
Missing system configuration.

Resolution
The 'Hold' Functionality for Purchase Requisition is available after activating the Business Function LOG_MM_CI_3.
The switch is available as of SAP Enhancement Package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 and before this version the Hold
functionality in Purchase Requisition was only available for Public Sector. The LOG_MM_CI_3 Business Function
is explained in the following SAP Help page:

The KBA 1641394 explains how to activate a Business Function.
After the Business Function LOG_MM_CI_3 is activated, the following customizing need to be set:
1. Open transaction OLME
2. Follow this path: Purchasing -> Environment Data -> execute 'Activate 'Park and Hold' in Purchasing
Documents'
3. Click on 'New Entry'
4. Select the flag for 'Activate Park and Hold' and Save it > WARNING: Note that you cannot reverse this setting!
This setting will activate the following functionalites:
Park Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders
Hold incomplete or incorrect Purchase Requisitions
