FINAL REPORT: NEST-256 DATA CENTER

DESIGN PROJECT
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report outlines the design for a high-availability, secure, and efficient data center for a small-to-
medium-sized business capable of supporting up to 5000 concurrent users for web, database, and
storage services. Leveraging state-of-the-art technology and best practices, this proposal ensures
optimal performance, scalability, and reliability, meeting the company's current and future needs.

INTRODUCTION
In response to the growing demand for digital services, the NEST-256 data center is designed to
support a robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure. This project emphasizes high availability,
security, and efficiency to serve up to 5000 concurrent users, focusing on web applications, database
management, and storage solutions.

DESIGN OBJECTIVES
- High Availability: Ensure continuous operation with redundancy, load balancing, and failover
systems.

- Security: Implement robust security measures including firewalls, encryption, and access controls
to protect data integrity and privacy.

- Efficiency: Optimize energy consumption and operational efficiency through state-of-the-art HVAC
and power supply systems, and virtualization technologies.

- Scalability: Design infrastructure that can easily scale up to accommodate growth.

NETWORK ARCHITECTURE
The network architecture employs a tiered design to separate web services, application logic, and
databases, ensuring efficient data flow and security. Load balancers distribute traffic across multiple
servers to maintain performance under load. Redundant internet connections and switches ensure
constant availability.
