Learn how to add a screen to the Cimplicty

project and use the navigation buttons to
open the screen.

Navigation Template
The Tool that is used to integrate a screen into
the Cimplicity project is the
Navigation_Template.xls file located in
F:\Cimproj\Screens directory. Or E:\Site\Cimproj
directory
We have previously created a new Cimplicity
screen called test.cim
Lets integrate this screen into the navigation
buttons .

The navigation buttons are a linked object
First we need to edit the tp_screen.cim
Then we must copy this object from the
tp_screen.cim display

The navigation template file is

navigation_template.xls
The template file is located in the F:\Cimproj\Screens
directory or E:\Site\Cimproj

•The Nav_layout tab is where we

configure buttons to call certain
screens
• We can also add a new set of screens
for a new unit
• We can also add titles to our screens
• We can assign hot keys to quickly call
up a display

4 levels of buttons
• Level 1 – Top level of buttons in this case Gas turbines
• Level 2 – Second Level of buttons in this case overview and GT1, GT13
• Level 3 – Third level – Control, Monitor, Aux and Tests
• Level 4 – Fourth level – Screens under Control, Monitor Aux and Tests
i.e. Control, Startup

•The Overlay screen Filename – ties a cimplicity screen to a button

• Screen Title – Text that will be displayed in the Title bar of our screen
• Unit – what unit data will be presented on the screen
• Hot Key - ability to assign a key or keystroke combination to quickly
display

Once we have finished editing the Nav_layout tab
we move to the Make_Nav Tab to create a new
tp_screen.cim page. Since this is a linked object
all other screens will be updated automatically.

• To generate the tp_screen.cim page

• Select the Make_nav Tab
• Click on the make navigation object button
• When the tp_screen.cim page opens save the
file and close the file
