3. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
No task can be accomplished in a single attempt. Any task in this world,
irrespective of how simple or difficult, cannot be performed without the encouragement
of others. An assignment develops an individual's knowledge and expertise to achieve the
highest level possible. There will always be an awareness of gratitude that a person
wishes to show to those who assisted in turning an attempt into a success. The
opportunity to convey our gratitude to all who assisted us in completing the task.
Finally, a huge thank you to our family and friends who did their best to help us,
either by providing encouragement to keep up with the project or by providing
motivation and ideas to complete this assignment. I am grateful to all of those with whom
I have had the pleasure to work during this and other related projects. Each of the
members of my STA116 group project has provided each other extensive personal and
professional guidance and taught me a great deal about both scientific research and life in
general.

4. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Our STA 116 lecturer, Dr. Basri Badyalina, gave our group the job of conducting a
brief research survey of all CS110 students at UiTM Segamat. Four objectives from the
survey, including three qualitative questions and one quantitative question that needed to
be completed by all CS110 students from UiTM Segamat, had to be discussed.
With the survey, we freely choose the theme from a survey. We made the decision
to conduct a poll on the present problems in UiTM Segamat, particularly the issue with
the payment methods that colleges in UiTM Segamat use to pay for their food. As a
result, we produced the final survey on "Preferable payment methods among CS110 Part
4 students in UiTM Segamat," which served as a quick investigation into the preferred
payment method being utilized by the majority of UiTM Segamat students.
Then, after deliberating over all the questions that might need to be addressed, we
came up with three qualitative questions: What is the common method student use for
their daily purchase for the first question; type of bank student use to make the
transaction for the second question; and what is a typical problem students encounter
when using online payments.
Furthermore, we produced one quantitative question for question one, How much
does a student spend daily using online transaction@qr pay. Next, we completed our
survey questions and assigned them through social media platforms such as Telegram and
WhatsApp, and the result of the responses came out with a total of 176 responses.
Last but not least, Dr. Basri Badyalina, our professor, gave us a report template to
follow so that we could write a thorough report on our quick research survey.

5. INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this study is to find out which payment option is preferred among
CS110 Part 4 students at UiTM Segamat. Payment methods have changed from
conventional cash-based transactions to electronic payment systems as technology has
advanced. The purpose of this study is to determine which payment option is favoured
among CS110 Part 4 students at UiTM Segamat.
The survey approach will be used for the investigation. To collect information
from the target audience, a structured questionnaire will be created. The questionnaire
will include closed-ended questions regarding the students' payment preferences, such as
frequency of usage, simplicity of use, security, and dependability.
The target population for this study is CS110 Part 4 students in UiTM Segamat. A
sample size will be determined using a sample size calculator, and a random sampling
method will be used to select participants from the target population. Data collected from
the survey will be analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequencies and
percentages.
The study's findings will be useful to businesses and service providers who serve
CS110 Part 4 students at UiTM Segamat. Businesses and service providers may adjust
their offerings to match the demands of their clients by studying their target market's
payment preferences. Furthermore, the findings of this study may be utilized to guide
future research on payment methods among various UiTM Segamat student
demographics.
Finally, the purpose of this research is to give insight into the most chosen
payment option among CS110 Part 4 students at UiTM Segamat. The study's findings can
assist businesses and service providers better understand their target market's payment
preferences and deliver better services.

7. DATA COLLECTION METHOD
7.1. Population
An online survey is being used as the direct questionnaire in this data collection
process. In order to collect data precisely, the survey about the payment method that was
conducted was only open to UITM Segamat students, especially CS110 students; as a
result, the demographic for our data collection is UITM Segamat students, CS110
students. Population is referred to as the entire set of people who share a characteristic.
8
7.3. Sampling technique
Snowball sampling
The initial participants, known as "seeds," in snowball sampling are chosen via
convenient or purposeful sampling procedures. Once these volunteers have been found,
the researcher asks them to propose more people who could fit the study's criteria. These
new people are then approached, and the process is repeated as they refer more potential
participants. The sampling process continues to develop in a "snowball" form, with
participants being referred to one another.
While snowball sampling allows researchers to reach people who would otherwise
be difficult to reach, it has limits. The possibility of sample bias is a severe constraint.
Because participants are chosen by referrals, the sample may not be representative of the
overall population, as some persons or groups may be over- or under-represented.
Furthermore, the absence of randomness in participant selection makes generalizing the
findings to the larger population challenging.
9
Snowball sampling researchers should be aware of the limits and potential biases
connected with this strategy. To promote transparency and accurate interpretation of the
results, it is critical to clearly identify the limitations and characteristics of the sample
when reporting the findings.
Based on our findings, UiTM Segamat students were selected as the study group
for preferred payment method among UiTM Segamat CS110 Part 4 students. Because, as
is commonly known, UiTM Johor Campus Segamat has a quite large number of students
enrolled in the course Computer Science compared to others courses, Snowball Sampling
Technique was chosen for use. Snowball sampling can also be used as an objective
sampling method. As a consequence, we received 176 responses from UiTM Segamat
students.Convenient

7.4. Types of variables
Variables define the population that the researcher wants to investigate. Variables
that are qualitative or quantitative in nature.

12. CONCLUSION
Based on the information available, we know that every student at UiTM Segamat
spends their money on a daily basis. The majority of UiTM Segamat students will use
their payment method to purchase food, stationery, and other necessities. According to
the data analysis, the majority of students spent RM0–RM20, which is 37.1%, or 65
students. Furthermore, the lowest percentage is 5.1%, or 9 students, for those who spend
between RM90 and RM120.
Students at UiTM Segamat make their choices based on the reasons provided by
their payment methods. First and foremost, data analysis shows that 49.1%, or 86
students, choose to use QR Pay because it gives them more benefits than other payment
methods. For example, most shops at the UiTM Segamat prefer students to use QR Pay
because it takes less time to complete a transaction, allowing the owner shop to ensure
that their sales are running smoothly. Not only that, but we can see that every shop has a
QR code displayed in front of their shop to make it very easy for a student to make a
payment.
Next, it is clear that nearly every student at UiTM Segamat chooses Bank Islam as
a bank platform to make any online transaction. According to data analysis, 68.4% of
students, or 119 students, chose Bank Islam as their bank. The key reason for this high
percentage is because Bank Islam is incredibly cheap for those opening their first bank
account. Nonetheless, even though we know that most students use QR Pay or online
23
payments, there are a few issues that can arise, such as slow service, fraud, and
chargebacks. We know from the information above that the most common complaint that
students confront is slow service. This issue could be caused by a poor internet
connection or by the bank's own slow server. From the pie chart, slow service is the most
common typical issue students have while using online payments, which is 56%, or 98
students.
Based on data research, this study concludes that the average student at UiTM
Segamat spends RM0-RM20 and uses Bank Islam as their bank. Studying at a university
may be beneficial for UiTM Segamat students in terms of gaining knowledge and
experience. This is due to the factor revealed by the preceding data. Students should
spend their money properly in order to gain easy knowledge.
