Another issue concerning an ageing society is decreasing productivity. As the number of workers
aged over 65 rises, they will probably struggle to process information and handle work with
advanced electronic equipment such as laptops and mobile phones. For instance, my
grandparents both tend to record data by writing it on the paper even though it is complicated as
they have difficulty dealing with computers. Therefore, compared with younger people, their low
efficiency may have a negative impact on companies’ profitability. This can lead to the significant
economic problem on social progress.

Ad2-more goods to choose-meet every specific demands-better experience
Disad1-local products face more challenges-factory closures-damage local economy
Importing products gives consumers more options in shopping. There is no denying that
customers have diverse demands in many areas, and they cannot always be satisfied with local
products. Therefore, importing goods can fill gaps in the local market, enhancing the quality of
people’s shopping experience. For instance, Chinese e-sport players prefer to use mice such as
Razer and Logitech which are manufactured by foreigner companies due to their advanced
technology, resulting in better performance in competitions.

In addition, purchasing goods from other nations is beneficial to consumers as it can reduce the
cost of living. Compared to local products, international products bring fierce competition.
Exporters of these products have knowledge and technology in cost management, making these
imports normally available at a lower price for consumers. As a result, local producers may lower
their prices to attract more customers. Consumers benefit from this competition because it
increases their disposable income.

Disad1-limit freedom and obstruct social progress

In current times, there have been considerable debates surrounding the issue of
rules. Some people argue that it is harmful to social stability if individuals can do
everything. From my perspective, I partly agree with this opinion.

On the one hand, laws restrain individuals’ behaviors, thereby protecting social
security. To be more specific, if people do not obey traffic regulations, traffic
accidents will increase dramatically. Then, traffic congestion caused by it will become
a big problem. Therefore, laws always regulate drivers’ behaviors in order to keep
road conditions stable. Moreover, it is difficult for people to trust each other without
guarantee. Some people may choose to sell fake products in order to make money,
which completely cheats consumers. Laws will punish those who break rules,
preventing these things from happening.

On the other hand, laws sometimes restrict freedom and even obstruct social
progress. If there are massive limitations on commercial events, they will not thrive.
For instance, high-income earners has difficulty earning money through numerous
efforts because of the high income tax rates. As a result, they may lack motivation to
concentrate on innovating excellent products. In other word, a society with excessive
rules is unable to encourage gifted people to perform to their full potential, thereby
losing lots of creativity and productivity.

In conclusion, there is no denying that it is nearly impossible to keep a society

running without laws. However, how to master the balance between rules and
freedom is much more significant. Too strict rules will limit personal development
and therefore lead to social regression.

Speaking of this topic, i d like to talk about the light rail in my hometown. My
hometown is Wuhu, which is a quite small city. As a result, the subway hardly
develop, and it is replaced by light rail. I dont rember the exact time when it was built
but it is determined that it happened in the recent years. I suppose it was completed
in 2 or 3 years.

In the past, people used to travel by other transportation, such as cars and buses.
When the destination is a little far away, it really took massive time, which was quite
inconvenient. However, in the current time, people can choose to go to work by light
rail. It runs much faster than other transportation and obviously, it will save lots of
time. Moreover, because it's built over the city. Therefore, residents can enjoy the
scenery along the way. It is a useful entertainment to release the heavy pressure
after get off work.

Absolutely, people really support this development. It completely changes their

travel mode choice and gives them more options so that people can take the most
suitable transport. As the development of light rail, numerous merchants and
consumers come to Wuhu, bringing significant progress in economy. It not only
beneficial to our travel, but also promote the social progress.

Speaking of this topic, I’d like to talk about the light rail in my

hometown. My hometown is Wuhu, which is a relatively small city. As a

result, the subway failed to materialize, giving way to the light rail

instead. I don't remember the exact time it was built, but it was

definitely completed in recent years, probably within 2 or 3 years.

Beforehand, people mainly relied on cars or buses for their commutes.

For long journeys, this often meant a considerable amount of time spent

in transit, which was quite inconvenient. However, in current times, the

light rail offers a better alternative. It runs much faster than other forms

of transportation, which is a significant time-saver, and it’s also quite

affordable. Additionally, since it travels above the cityscape, passengers

can enjoy the scenery along the way. It serves as a nice entertainment to

relieve stress after work.

Absolutely, residents really support this development. It has completely

changed their travel options and provided more choices, allowing them

to pick the most suitable transport flexibly. The expansion of the light

rail has also attracted numerous merchants and consumers to Wuhu,

bringing significant economic growth. It has not only improved our

commute experience but also promoted social progress.

Topic: Some people believe that children can learn effectively by watching TV and
should be encouraged to watch TV both at home and at school. To what extend do
you agree or disagree.

In current times, there have been considerable debates surrounding the issue of
watching TV. Some people argue that children will have better academic
performance with the assistance of TV so they should be encouraged to watch it any
time. From my perspective, I support TV is beneficial to the study while it cannot be
spent excessive time. From my perspective, I believe that watching TV can be
beneficial for studying, as long as it is not excessive.

To begin with, TV presents information in a more interesting manner compared to

learning from teachers. TV has an obvious superiority in terms of being interesting
and enlightening. To be more specific, some channels concentrate on the progress of
artificial intelligence. They aim to introduce certain advanced algorithms with an
accessible and enjoyable teaching method.(+ 具 体 案 例 ) Through this process,
children understand the practical applications of massive mathematical concepts.
Therefore, they have the desire and ability to learn these complicated knowledge
through watching TV. Moreover, TV can cultivate children’s independent learning
ability. Without teachers’ proper guidance, children need to work on their own to
satisfy their curiosity, which dramatically stimulates their study skills.

On the other hand, it is not a wise decision to encourage students to watch TV both
at home and at school. The majority of students do not have enough self-control so
they will likely become addicted to TV programs. As a result, it is difficult for them to
focus on schoolwork due to numerous distractions, thereby leading to poor exam
performance. Additionally, increased screen time can negatively impact children’s
social development. They tend to sit in front of TV instead of playing with their peers
and communicating with teachers or parents. (扣紧主题 not excessive)

In conclusion, there is no denying that watching TV has great advantages for children.
However, it is much more significant that parents and teachers should impose
restrictions on their viewing time, maintaining a balance between study and
entertainment.

Topic:Instead of asking the government to bear the cost of higher

education, students should pay their own tuition fees themselves. Do

you agree or disagree with this statement?

In current times, there have been considerable debates surrounding the

issue of whether the government should pay for tuition fees. From my

perspective, I completely agree that it is the responsibility of the

government and it will bring abundant advantages.

On the one hand, if the government pay for students’ tuition fees, it is

completely beneficial to the social progress. There is no denying that

numerous pupils cannot afford the high tuition fees so they have to give
up the chance to pursue their academic. With the assistance of the

government, many gifted pupils have a chance to learn from experienced

professors so that they can pursue their interests in various fields.

Therefore, their achievements will probably accelerate the development

of society. To be more specific, the CSC policy in China helps lots of pupils

to study abroad. Many of them contribute their talents into the progress

of artificial intelligence. In the research team of a recent application GPT-

4o, half of the members come from China, representing the merits of

this policy.

On the other hand, the burden of tuition fees is harmful to students’ life

and study environment, thereby leading to a worse academic

performance. To begin with, college tuition fees are always expensive in

advanced countries. If they spend massive expense on tuition fees, they

struggle to afford suitable housing or basic necessities like

transportation. Obviously, learning in this awful condition is really a

challenge. Moreover, many majors require additional expenditure to buy

some latest devices. For instance, those students who majoring in

Computer Science tend to afford a laptop in order to deal with the codes

to for working on their own projects. With consistent effort, they

probably gain higher scores in the final examination.

In conclusion, I support that the government needs to bear the cost of

tuition as it promotes social progress and benefits students.

Some people who have been successful in society don’t attribute their

success to the theoretical knowledge they learned from their university.

Do you agree that theoretical knowledge is not as valuable as expected.

In current times, there have been considerable debates surrounding the

issue of whether theoretical knowledge is necessary to success. From my

perspective, I agree with that knowledge itself is a dispensable factor in

the way to success.

There is no denying that numerous individuals achieve success through

abundant practical experience rather than theoretical knowledge. For

instance, workers do not understand the complicated principles under

the advanced machine. However, they can use it with massive and

repetitive practice, thereby manufacturing different kinds of products.

Moreover, as the development of artificial intelligence, many people

follow this trend to post relevant videos, thereby earning money.

Actually, it does not require people to have a lot of mathematical and

computer knowledge, they just need to use it constantly to master the

utilization of AI.
