Make (2 sc, ch-2, 2 sc) in ch-2 sp. Picture 18

Make sc in the next 3 sts. Picture 19

Now, we’re going to make a bobble stitch. We will make 5 tr bobble. Make an “incomplete” tr in the next dc – yarn
over twice, insert your hook in the next stitch and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw the yarn through 2 loops on
your hook, yarn over, draw the yarn through 2 loops, and then stop. You have 2 loops left on your hook. Picture 20

Make 4 more “incomplete” tr in the same stitch. You should have 6 loops on the hook. Picture 21

Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 6 loops. Picture 22

Make sc in the next st. The bobble is formed on the other side. Picture 23

Now, when you’ve learned to make these several repeating rows, continue to work following the written pattern.

Last row (top edge)

The last row is worked at the top edge of the shawl. Picture 31

Work 1 row of sc evenly across the longest side of the shawl. Picture 32

It’s important that the edge is not too tight, because we’re going to stretch it to some extent in the blocking process,
so add additional sc if needed.
