VALENCIA is a city on the east 1 c o a s t of Spain. It’s a
m e d i u m - s i z e d city. It isn’t as big as Madrid or Barcelona,

but it isn’t small. It has a festival called Fallas, which takes place in March. During Fallas,
Valencia is very 3cr o w d e d because lots of people visit the city. It’s also very

n o i s y because there’s music and fireworks in the street until very late at
night. Valencia has many new buildings, but it has some 5h i s t o r i c
buildings downtown, for example, the post office and the 6t o n w h a l l .
It has some really old religious buildings, too! There are some beautiful churches, especially
the 7C a t h e d r a l .

SHANGHAI is a very large city in China. It’s 745 miles 1s o u t h of


Beijing on the Yangtze river. Shanghai’s a really 2m o d e r n city with lots
of very tall buildings. It has many beautiful things to see, for example, the City God

T e m p l e and the Yu Yuan Gardens. There is also the China Art

M u s e u m , which is the largest in Asia. Shanghai is an

e x c i t i n g city – there are so many things happening and so much
to see… and eat! Go to an outdoor 6m a r k e t and try some of the delicious
street food, like noodles, rice balls, and pancakes. For the best views in the city, take a walk
around the beautiful 7h a r b o r and enjoy looking at the boats and the lovely
tall buildings!

ST. PETERSBURG is one of the largest cities in Russia. Apart from the world-
famous Hermitage Museum, it has many interesting things to see. If you want to visit
an amazing building, go to see Gatchina 1P a l a c e , which was a summer
residence for the Russian tsars. It’s full of interesting art, and you can then walk around
Gatchina Park and enjoy the 2l a k e and its beautiful clear water. When you get
back to St. Petersburg, you can go shopping, for souvenirs in Svetlanovsky

d e p a r t m e n t st o r e . If you want more shopping, you
can visit the Galleria shopping 4m a l l , which also has a movie theater
and a lot of different restaurants. To complete a fabulous day, go for a walk to the
mysterious Egyptian 5Br i d g e over the Fontanka river and take photos of
the amazing Egyptian statues on it!
