Depending on the model and operating system of your Television, the update instructions can vary from verbiage
and paths in which you take through the settings Menu. Below is the guide on how to update your Hisense TV and
a few different identifiers if you are not sure.
Note: This software update may factory reset your TV, make sure you have your passwords saved or easily
accessible.
Above is an example of an Android TV, below is an example of a Google TV. The easiest identifier for Google TV
(below) is in the header of your home page. On the Top bar of the TV you will see a reference to “Google TV”

How to update your TV
Start off by downloading the firmware for your TV, this file will start with the Model number of your TV and end
with a letter followed by four digits.
1. For the update, you will need a 4Gb FAT32 formatted USB drive.
2. Download the latest file listed under Firmware and Software (Example: _M0803 is newer than _M06xx)
3. If the downloaded .zip file has “…USBOTA…” in the filename. Copy the .zip file to the root directory of the
USB drive without unzipping and Skip to step 6
4. Unzip the downloaded .zip file and copy the contents to the root directory of the USB drive.
5. The USB drive should now contain the update file(s) (.pkg or .bin)
7. With TV powered on, Insert the USB stick into the TV’s USB port. If the TV has both white and blue USB
ports, use one of the white USB 2.0 ones.
8. If the TV displays the USB Media Device prompt after sensing the USB is inserted, just cancel, or close the
box.
9. Follow the update step for your model OS type on the next page.

Follow the update step for your model OS type:
Hisense Android TV (L9G, L5G, PX1, PX1-PRO, U9DG, U8G, U7G, H9G, H9F, H8G1, H8G, H6590F,
H6570G, H6510G, H5500G, H5500F, H4G5, A6G)
1. Update Step: With TV powered on, Insert the USB stick into the TV’s USB port. Enter the TV menu and
navigate along this menu path [MENU button] > Settings > Device Preferences > About > System Update
> Upgrade from USB
2. The TV will respond confirming that an update file is found and provides 2 options. Select Reboot.
If you receive an error message saying “...can’t find OTA upgrade package…”. Press [OK] to clear the error
message, then press the [UP] arrow 4 times on the remote to retry the update.
3. The TV will take a few minutes to apply the update and will reboot once the update is complete.
4. Once rebooted, you can remove the USB stick and complete the setup of the TV. If the update fails,
please try the alternate method below.
Hisense Google TV (L9H, L8G, L5H, C1, PX2, PX2-PRO, 110UX, 98UX, U8N, U7N, U6N, 85UX, U8K, U7K,
U75K, U6K, A6K, U8H, U7H, U75H, U6H, U6G1, U6G, A7H, A6H, A6G8, A6G3, A65H, A65K)
1. Update Step: With TV powered on, Insert the USB stick into the TV’s USB port. Enter the TV menu and
navigate along this menu path [MENU button] > Settings > System > About > Upgrade > Upgrade by USB
2. The TV will respond confirming that an update file is found and provides 2 options. Select Reboot.

Alternate Method or If your model series is not listed, please use the instructions below.
1. Update Step: Turn OFF the TV
2. Plug the USB into the TV’s topmost USB port (located on the rear of the TV).
3. Unplug the TV from the wall and then plug it back in.
4. Press and hold the POWER button on the TV Remote Control, once you see "Software updating…" appear
on the screen you may RELEASE the power button.
a. The Software Update Process will be complete without any further user interaction.
b. The Process should take between 5-8 minutes.
c. Please DO NOT turn OFF the TV during this process.

5. When the update is complete, the "Software updating..." Screen will disappear and the TV will come
up as it normally does.
