Section 1: Review
This section provides you with an opportunity to reflect on, review and summarise your progress and
achievements through the first 11 units of the qualification.

● Within this year i have learnt an array of different skills from public speaking to film acting. My
most memorable moment where i learnt a specific skill would be during the filming of our short
films made with Screenology pupils from different universities, during the process we had a
scene where i needed to increase in volume when I finished, I thought it was a good take but as
it turns out i was too loud, the boom mic could not pick it up. This was a valuable lesson and
allowed me to work on the skill of controlling my volume on camera. Also went i look back i
remember all the shows we have been to and the difference from last year is that i now have the
maturity to understand why we go and i have come to understand that i have leant to analyze the
show as i watch it and be critical of it, in result of this i can now look at my own projects with that
critical outlook.

● The difference in knowledge from the 1st to the 2nd year is incomparable, we are told in the first
year that we are being put in the feeling of being in the industry which is true to some degree but
in the 2nd year it becomes more intense and the result of your lack of passion or hard work
affects everyone on a difference which in its self makes us grow and mature as people. I'm so
proud of what I've achieved with my class mates its truly an amazing thing to grow with these
people and become more talented. I have had my mind set on a singular discipline ever since
being a little boy and that is acting.

● Acting has always been my passion and the more i work the more tangible it feels i know that it's
going to be hard but I've already been working so I've just got to keep doing that and push more,
i want to go to drama school that is the aim, i plan to try for many years, i don't expect to get into
it right away so I'm building my portfolio with stuff like other productions. I'm going on a fringe
festival tour this summer and I'm hoping to make many contacts and connections through that
tour and i believe that through other things i do to build my portfolio i can make a successful
career.

Section 2: Project Concept

Nat has given us a clear direction, i know that we want this to be a story promoting feminism in one way
or another, kind of flipping ovids tragedies on its head and creating a new meaning out of these stories.
The research for this story is intense because you need to understand our story on many different
levels, not only in the way ovid originally meant it but as an adapted piece, how does the newly adapted
piece change the narrative or meaning. Thats our job to figure out and research how to put that into the
story, for example feminism is a big part of our story but obviously has nothing to do with ovids original,
unless you acknowledge the clear sexism that is in a lot of the scenes but was acceptable in ancient
Greece, but even though the is barely any link i have found that the ignorance of ovids writing towards
woman allows an opportunity to flip ovids meaning on its head: for example in Acteon the goddess is
scene in a vulnerable situation and that clear intension of ‘when woman are by they are prey’ can be
flipped on this head now be a woman who is in a rock band and is full of confidence, that change flips
the story and the meaning yet still has that impact.

Section 3: Evaluation
The way i intend to record my process is through my notebook and comparing my notes with other
pupils so i can get a full understanding of the session and see a different point of view. Along with that i
will be keeping notes of key moments to provide full points in my weekly reflections. At the end of last
term one of my aims ones to come in on time and contribute all my attention to the session, i have
improve and are doing so slowly i now come in 3-4 days a week in my 4-day week whereas last term it
2-3 time a week so there is improvement and i have focused on my attitude towards, trying to be more
positive and enjoy instead of complain. Also, more as a personal goal, when joining BTA i challenged
myself to become a more complete actor with an array of skills and i can say that has happened, with
my skills with script reading and directing and writing i have become a more complete actor with being
able to understand all that makes up a production. Having a strong cohesive cast is important but how
can we achieve that? Last year we had trouble at some points with people putting in less effort than
others and that caused friction, but i can say that this year we have a group of people that work well and
want to do this show properly, also with us being more mature we can understand other people's point
of view so i don't believe that will happen again. On the hand we are all very passionate and can be
stubborn so we understand how there could be heated moments but i think because we understand it,
we can avoid it and not be ignorant to it.

Project Action Plan and Timetable

Week Date Week Activity / What you are intending to do - Resources / What you will need to
Beginning including independent study do it - including access to
workshops
Monday: Read through script to develop script, pen
15th March understanding
Chose character to rehearse to prep for audition
wednesday: N/A

Monday: we needed to find a character from the Script, pen

22nd March script and build that character with the lines we had
chosen. Eg: vocal physical and find motivations

Friday: we worked on animal physicality

Monday: worked on more physicality and the Script, pen, notebook
29th March nymphs, especially the song diana does.
Tuesday: N/A

Monday: N/A but i was there for casting towards Script, pen, notebook
5th April the end: Sun God/Acteon/the creation
Wednesday: the Acteon scene in more detail

HOLIDAYS
12th April

Monday: first day back and we need to work on the Script, pen, notebook
19th April cast and how we feel, so a group read through and
reminded us of the physicality.

26th April This week is about getting us into character and Script, pen, notebook, props
finding that basic blocking and for us the actors to
fully go in depth into our story. We need to research
and find more answers for our character. Finding
that depth should be a key point.
3rd May Right in the thick of the intensives now so Script, pen, notebook, props
it's about the rinse and repeats try and get
full scenes and see how they flow well as
testing the actors/challenging them. I will
be getting to know my character well and
so it's about taking notes and applying
them to scenes, i expect to do more work
on the Acteon scene in which i would like
to do more physical theatre with Kat.

This is the last week of regular intensives Script, pen, notebook, props
10th May so it's imperative that we iron out the final
things testing it as a full show before tech
rehearsal. We need to hammer those
notes home and build on our confidence
and relationship as a company. We can't
go into it with a bad attitude so team
morale will be a big focus. Also, a lot of
costume fittings will be happening, so we
need to figure out how that impacts our
movement or even motivation for some
lines.
17th May This would be the start of tech rehearsal, Script, pen, notebook, props
so this is no longer about the actors or
building the show, it's about the lights so
for me it's about being composed and
professional. Also understanding how we
can develop in those moments as well, i
will be developing my character and linking
my motivations and tone with some
specific light changes to see if that could
make a greater impact, and so i will also
be asking my director to give feedback on
those moments.
25th May This is show week it's the final and we Script, pen, notebook, props
need to be ready no more trying things out
or ideas its show time, we need to be
composed and working hard to do the
show justice like being on time and
dragging the slack if there is any. We will
get notes and tips from Nat Simone and so
as actors we will need to take that on and
incorporate it into our scenes.
