Form three groups in your class and all of you attempt the following issues/questions) focus

 Write some notes on the Nature of Interactions among Peoples and States of Ethiopia and the
Horn and brief how the Gibe states, the Leqa States and Nilotic Sheikdoms had emerged?
 What is your view about the positive impact of long distance trade that starts from Bonga
(kafa)? Explain the two routes of the long distance trade? And Trade Items of the time both
for internal and external trade? Elaborate Jallaba, Balgada, Jabarti, Afqala.
 How do you understand the Making of Modern Ethiopian State and The Process of Territorial
Unification of Ethiopia by Kasa Hailu(the later Tewodros II) plus Territorial expansion and
unification by Menilek of Shewa including the roles played by the Oromo elites such as Ras
Gobena Dache, Fitawrari Habte-Giorgis Dinagde, DejjachBalchaSafo (Abba Nefso) and
others worked towards the formation of the modern Ethiopia?
 Make an argument on the major battles against Menilek expansion to wards Southern and
south Western Ethiopia including the battle against the Arsi Oromo’s?

attempts done by Ethiopian rulers to avoid slave trade in Ethiopian history ?

facilitated in Ethiopia?

 List out and explain Major Battles Fought against Foreign Aggressors and Patriotism in
Ethiopian history?
 Although Ethiopia scored victory at the battle of Adwa but after 40 years Italy had come and
invaded Ethiopia? what were the major causes and pretext of the war (immediate cause ) how
do you understand the course of the war , what was the global context which pave the way for
Ethiopia’s liberation from Italy and indicate the contribution of patriotic resistance movement
( both male, female and religious leaders like the martyred Abune Petros?
