+++Intro

Art is a form of creative expression that permet human beings to communicate

ideas, emotions and experiences. It can take many forms, from painting and
sculpture to literature, music and theater. Art has the power to touch hearts and
minds, provoke reflection and inspire change. As art engages with political and
social issues, we speak of political art. This art aims to convey political
messages, raise public awareness of important issues and promote change. Political
artists use their work to criticize injustices, give voice to marginalized
communities, and challenge established power structures I have 4 DOCUMENTS FOR my
argument the first document is a picture called one under cctv by banksy the
second is an extract of song called killing the name by the group rage aigaints
the machines , after an poem ritten by william burler called the second comming
and finally an extract of the novel a painter of our times by john berger we will
ask the question to know how do artists use their work as political statments ? To
answer the question we must organize our work in two parts the first part is Art
as a tool for social and political criticism and for second part art as an impact
for society

.ART AS A TOLL FOR SOCIAL AND POLITICAL CRITICISM

Throughout history, artists have utilized various techniques, such as satire, symbolism,
and allegory, to comment on everything from corruption and greed to injustice and
oppression I take as an example document A which is an image of a Banksy grafiti
created in 2007 called ONE NATION UNDER CCTV Banksy's work "One Nation
Under CCTV" is used as a tool for social and political criticism by highlighting issues of
surveillance and control in modern society. This work, created in London, represent a
child painting the sentence "ONE NATION UNDER CCTV" while a police officer and
a dog look on, with a surveillance camera nearby. Using graffiti as a means of
expression, Banksy raises questions about privacy, individual freedoms and the impact of
surveillance technologies on society we then have the following document witcht is the
lyrics of the song killing the machines by rage againts the machines used as a tool of
social and political critisicim by questioning established norms and becoming subversive
. Inspired by the Los Angeles riots in 1991, caused by the acquittal of four white police
officers who attacked Rodney King, a young black American, the song denounces police
violence and institutional racism The lyrics highlight the fact that some police officers
are white supremacists, even members of the Ku Klux Klan, and criticize the system in
place This line refers to the fact that some police officers are members of the Ku Klux
Klan, a racist organization that burns crosses to intimidate African Americans. This
shows how racism is present even within law enforcement. The others sentence
denounces the fact that people passively submit to the orders the repetition is like a kind
of rebelions the both documetns denouncing the forms of surveillance and domination
exercised by institutions.

.ART AS AN IMPACT FOR SOCIETY

Art has always been a powerful tool to influence and transform society.he serves as a
collective memory, allowing people to understand and connect with different societies
and eras. I took for exemple the poem the second comming by william butler This poem
shows the anxieties and uncertainties of its time, through the First World War and the
Irish War of Independence. Yeats uses the poem's unsettling, apocalyptic tone to
"disenchant" us from our conventional assumptions about the future, forcing us to
confront disturbing truths about the human condition and the fragility of civilization.
This shows its philosophical impact
