DigiTrak XT Compatibility Software

Installation Instructions

Overview
The DigiTrak XT Holter Monitor is a battery operated solid state recorder, designed for up to 168
hours
(7 day) continuous recording of ambulatory electrocardiograph (AECG) data. It has the ability to
detect and record pacemaker pulses according to the appropriate criteria for AAMI pacer
detection.
The DigiTrak XT Compatibility software enables you to use a DigiTrak XT with previous Holter
software releases. The compatibility software is intended to be run on Holter software versions
2.7, 2.8, and 2.8.1.
NOTE The DigiTrak XT Compatibility software enables you to download up to 48 hours of recordings. You
must upgrade your Holter software to version 2.9 or later to download longer recording times.
The DigiTrak XT Compatibility Software CD contains the following items:
 DigiTrak XT Compatibility software version A.01.00
 DigiTrak XT Compatibility Software Installation Instructions (this document)
 DigiTrak XT Instructions for Use (available in fifteen languages)
 Philips Recorders Docking Station Setup sheet
 DigiTrak XT Firmware Updater Instruction sheet
 DigiTrak XT Firmware Image

Holter PC System Requirements


 Processor: Intel Pentium III, 500 MHz

 Memory: 256 MB

 Hard disk: 10 GB

 Video: 1024 x 768 x 16K color

 USB: 1.2 or greater

 Operating system: Windows Vista Business or Ultimate, Windows XP Professional (Service


Pack 2), or Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition (Service Pack 1). Only the listed editions
are supported. Other versions of these operating systems (for example, Windows XP Home
or Windows Vista Home edition) are NOT supported.

Installing the DigiTrak XT Compatibility Software
NOTE Do not install the DigiTrak XT Compatibility software on a Holter 2.9 or later system.

Before You Begin


1 Ensure that the Holter software version on your Holter version is 2.7, 2.8. or 2.8.1.
2 Note where the Holter software is installed. The DigiTrak XT Compatibility software must
be installed in the same directory.
The default directory is C:\Program Files\Holter.
3 Close all Holter applications.

To install the DigiTrak XT software


1 Insert the DigiTrak XT Compatibility CD.
The installer is configured to automatically start. If the installation program does not start
automatically, using Windows Explorer, navigate to the CD and double-click the file,
Setup.exe. The Install Wizard appears.
2 Click Next, review the release notes, then click Next.
3 To install the DigiTrak XT Compatibility software in the default location, click Next.
If Holter is installed in a different directory than that specified on this screen, click Change
and navigate to the directory where Holter is installed.
4 Select the features to install, then click Next.
– DigiTrak XT Compatibility Software — Enables you to use a DigiTrak XT with
previous Holter software releases. The compatibility software is intended to be run on
Holter software versions 2.7, 2.8, and 2.8.1.
– DigiTrak XT Firmware Image — The updated firmware for your DigiTrak XT.
– Documentation — Install the documentation.

5 Click Install to install the software.


6 Click Finish to end the installation process and remove the CD from the drive.
7 Reboot the system.

Uninstalling the DigiTrak XT Compatibility Software
You may need to uninstall the DigiTrak XT Compatibility software (for example, if you upgrade
the Holter application to version 2.9 or later).
NOTE Be sure to uninstall the DigiTrak XT Compatibility software before uninstalling the Holter application.

To uninstall the DigiTrak XT Compatibility software


1 Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
2 Locate the DigiTrak XT Compatibility software entry and click Remove.
The Application Maintenance screen appears.
3 Select the Remove option, then click Next.
The Remove option uninstalls the DigiTrak XT Compatibility software and related files from
the system.

4 Continue clicking Next until the application is removed, then click Finish when prompted to
close the Wizard.
5 Continue removing the Holter application according to the instructions in the Philips
Installation and Configuration Guide.
6 Reboot the system.
