B – Application:

Problem # 1:
The data on unemployment among Filipino graduates of tertiary institutions remain high. Year-in and
year-out, the schools are turning over graduates who only add to the great number who are already
unemployed. One such speculation is that there are no job opportunities suited to the qualifications of
these graduates. Another is that there are many job opportunities offered by industries and business
establishments but there are no qualified people to fill in the job available. If this situation continues
overtime, chances are that this problem will grow into unmanageable proportion or these graduates who
are unemployed will enter into menial jobs just so they will survive.

Questions:
1. What is the best title of the study? Give at least 2 titles.

2. Give at least 5 research questions.

3. Give your assumptions

4. Prepare the research paradigm.

5. State the independent and dependent variables

6. Give at least 5 important variables and terms to be defined

7. Prepare the significance of the study

Problem # 2:
A certain electrical manufacturing company makes electrical wiring, which sells to contractors in the
construction industry. Approximately, 800 electrical contractors purchase wire annually. The Marketing Director
wants to determine the electrical contractors’ satisfaction with the wire. He developed a satisfaction scale that
yields a satisfaction score of between 10 and 50 for participant responses. In a random sample, 25 of the 900
contractors were asked to complete a satisfaction survey. The satisfaction scores for the 25 participants are
averaged to produce a mean satisfaction score.

pick a random sample of children from those registered in the schools for survey. He will ask such questions
as: How large is your family? How much education do your parents have? And so on. Is there anything wrong
with this sampling plan? Why?

Problem # 4
In five Statistics tests, a student received the following grades: 75, 77, 79, 88, and 90. Which of the
