Results Overview:
After completing the simulations and extracting the needed data,
analyze the results considering the material nonlinearity and the
changes in geometry. I noticed for requirement 1 that when we increase
the load the step time decrease so when I increased the load from
100MPA to 500MPA, I got job aborted. I have observed an increase in
stress, including von Mises stress, until it potentially reaches the
material's yield strength or ultimate strength (that higher loads lead to
higher stresses).
I noticed for requirement 2 that the stress relation still linear with time.
For task 3, it was noted that the stress-strain relationship maintains
linearity up until the point where the applied load exceeds 500 MPa.
For task 4, when we increased the thickness of the plate, we found that
the plate became stiffer, meaning it didn't bend or stretch as much
under the same amount of force. These observations suggest that
making the plate thicker can make it stronger and less likely to deform
under stress.
