The Internet is the underlying global network infrastructure that connects millions of computers and
devices worldwide. It is the physical infrastructure that allows data to be transmitted between these
devices. On the other hand, the World Wide Web (or simply the web) is a subset of the Internet. It is
a collection of interconnected documents and resources that are accessed using web browsers. The
web relies on the Internet to transmit data, but it represents the information and services that users
can access through their browsers.
2. 2. Network protocols are a set of rules and standards that control how data in a computer
network is formatted, transferred, received, and processed. They specify the standards and
procedures that network devices must follow in order to interact efficiently. These protocols ensure
that data may be shared between devices and systems with disparate hardware, software, and
operating systems. Network protocols are a set of rules and standards that control how data in a

3. An IP address is a unique digital address for a device connected to the Internet. It is a string of
numbers that indicates the location of a device on the internet. IP addresses are used to send and
receive data between Internet-connected devices. They help computers find and connect with one
another in the same way that a home address helps you find a residence.
 A domain is a human-friendly name that is used to identify websites on the Internet. It is the
web address that you enter into your browser. Domains make it easier for users to find
websites. They act as a user-friendly alias for a web server's IP address. When you type a
domain name into your browser, it converts it to the associated IP address, allowing you to
access the website.
 A web browser is a computer program or application that allows you to access and view
webpages on the Internet. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge are some
popular examples. Web browsers serve as a gateway to the Internet. They use domain
names or IP addresses to get web pages from web servers and display the content in a
readable fashion. Browsers allow you to interact with websites, watch videos, fill out forms,
and do other things.
 A system is a collection of interrelated components or pieces that cooperate to execute a
given function or achieve a common objective.
 A system's function is to carry out a specific activity, process, or aim in an effective and
cohesive manner by organizing and coordinating its different pieces The primary goal of a
system is to guarantee that all of its components work together to produce the desired
result.
4. Email Communication: Email communication is enabled by the internet, allowing individuals and
businesses to exchange messages, documents, and multimedia files globally, quickly, and affordably.
 Video conferencing platforms, such as Zoom and Skype, use the internet to enable real-time
video and audio communication, allowing for remote meetings and collaboration.
 Online Banking: Banks use the internet to provide consumers with handy financial
management tools such as online account access, fund transfers, and bill payments.
 Social media services such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter use the internet to connect,
exchange content, and communicate with people all over the world.
 Cloud Storage: Services such as Google Drive and Dropbox provide cloud storage via the
internet, allowing customers to store and retrieve their data from any internet-connected
device.
