questions you would ask

Scenario 3. You are dispatched to site for as customer says they have a boot
device error
Answer.
Identify the Problem:

1) Can you describe the error message you're seeing in detail?


2) When did you first encounter this boot device error?
3) Have there been any recent changes or updates made to the system?
4) Are you able to access any menus or options when the error appears?

Analyze the Cause of the Problem:

1) What actions were taken leading up to the appearance of the boot device
error?
2) Have there been any hardware changes or failures recently?
3) Is the system experiencing any other performance issues or anomalies?
4) Have you encountered similar issues with this device or other devices
before?
Formulate Hypotheses:

1. Could the boot device error be caused by a corrupt boot sector or boot
configuration?
2. Is there a possibility of a faulty hard drive or storage device?
3. Could recent software updates or changes have affected the boot process?
4. Is it possible that the system BIOS or firmware needs to be updated or
reset?

Apply the Solution:

1) Have you attempted to restart the system to see if the error persists?
2) Can we try booting from an alternative boot device or media?
3) Would you be comfortable accessing the system's BIOS or firmware
settings?
4) Are there any data backup measures in place that we should consider
before proceeding?
Evaluate the Effectiveness of the Applied Solution:

1) Has the boot device error been resolved after implementing the suggested
solutions?
2) Are there any lingering issues or unexpected behaviors following the
attempted fixes?
3) Have you noticed any improvements or changes in system performance
since addressing the error?
4) Are there any additional steps or precautions we should take to ensure the
problem does not recur?
Document the Work Done:

1) Can you provide documentation of any changes made to the system


configuration or settings?
2) Would you like a summary of the troubleshooting steps taken and their
outcomes?
3) Is there a preferred format or location for storing this documentation?
4) Are there any follow-up tasks or recommendations we should note for
future reference?
