ENGINEERING GRAPHICS
(EEE & ECE)
Time: 3 hours Max Marks: 70

PART – A
Answer all five units (5 x 14 = 70 Marks)

UNIT-I

1. (a) Draw a parabola when the distance of focus from the directrix is equal to 40 mm? Draw a
Tangent and normal line at any point ‘p’ on the curve?

(b) Construct a hyperbola with the distance between foci and directrix is 50mm and
eccentricity is 3/2.Draw a tangent and Normal at any point “P” on the curve?

OR
Draw an epicycloid, the directing circle of which is 160 mm in diameter and the
2. generating circle is 40 mm in diameter. Draw a tangent and normal to the curve at any
point on it.

UNIT-II
3. Draw the projections of point A in the following positions on the same reference line by
keeping the distance between the projectors as 20 mm,
(i) 20 mm below HP and 30 mm behind VP
(ii) 15 mm above HP and 50 mm behind VP.
(iii) 40 mm below HP and 25 mm in front of VP
(iv) 50 mm above HP and 30 mm in front of VP
(V) 25 mm above HP and 35 mm in front of VP

OR
4. Draw the projections of a line AB is 75mm which is inclined at 300 to HP and 450 to VP.
One of its end A is 20 mm above HP and 30 mm In front of VP?

UNIT-III
5. A thin rectangular plate of side 40 x 20 mm has its shorter side in the HP and inclined at
an angle of 30° to the VP. Project its front view when the top view is a perfect square of
20 mm side.

6. Draw the Top view and front view of a circular lamina if the surface of the lamina is
perpendicular to HP and inclined at 30° to VP.

UNIT-IV
7. A pentagonal prism of side of base 25 mm and axis 40 mm long is resting on HP on a
corner. of its base. Draw the projections of the prism, when the base is inclined at 60° to
HP., and the axis appears to be inclined at 30° to V.P?

OR

8. A hexagonal pyramid, having a base with a 30 mm side and an 80 mm long axis, rests on
one of its base edges in the H.P such that the axis is inclined at 30 0 to the H.P and 450 to
the V.P Draw its projections?
UNIT-V
9. Draw the isometric projection of a frustum of a cone of diameter 30 mm at smaller end,
diameter 50 mm at bigger end and the axial height is 70 mm. It is resting on its bigger
end on H.P, keeping its axis vertical
