REM 610
Motor Protection Introduction

„ REM 610 is a protection relay intended for the

protection of motors against thermal overload.
„ REM 610 also protects the associated feeder circuit
and the motor drive.
„ REM 610 measures and analyses the phase currents
feeding the motor and the zero sequence current to
detect earth (ground) faults.
„ As an option REM 610 can monitor temperatures in
the motor stator (“case”) and bearings via RTDs or
thermistors.
„ Based on the information measured and analysed the
relay starts, generates alarms and eventually trips the
circuit breaker or contactor switch to prevent motor
damage.
