Summary of AC Power and Grounding Cables
AC Power Cable Selection
Scenario 1: Total AC power cable length requirement is < =70m  4*16mm2
Scenario 2: Total AC power cable length requirement is 70m - 100m  4*25mm2 or (3*25mm2+16mm2)
Scenario 3: Total AC power cable length requirement is 100m - 150m  4*35mm2 or (3*35mm2+25mm2)

Proposed Cable Color Codes/If not coding with heat shrink tubes

Phase 1
Phase 2

Phase 3
- Unless use RED
the same color
- Unless use BLACK Neutral
heat shrink
the same color - Unless use Y/G
heat shrink the same color BLUE
Yellow/Green
heat shrink - Unless use - General (Not
the same color applicable from EEU
heat shrink meter to ACDB)
Note:
Among four core cables, the smallest core size should be always used for neutral connection whatever the color is but
the proposed color coding is to be maintained using heat shrink tubes of the desired color.

Summary of AC Power and Grounding Cables…

GBT AC Power Cable Selection…

• CONCLUSION: For all GBT sites 4*16mm2 is proposed to be used Scenario 1 (< =70m)

Grounding Grounding Cable Requirement

• ACDB Busbar Grounding Connection ->YG 16mm2
ACDB • ACDB Stand Grounding ->YG 16mm2

RECTIFIER BUSBAR • Rectifier Busbar Grounding Connection ->YG 25mm2

• Rectifier PE terminal ->TBD after

RECTIFIER PE POINT 5*10mm2 AC power cable utilization decision is
made with customer

AC Power Connection Implementation
1. Refer all material and scenarios of AC power cable requirements
2. Route all the cables securely, AC power and grounding cables, as
specified - “FROM-TO”.
- Use PVC for AC power cable to up walls but flexible conduit on roof
top open areas and bending points shall be used
- Use proper terminal lug and bolt sizes at where needed. (Note:
Check the ACDB is with cable gland at cable entrance unless new is
to be used)

AC Power Connection Implementation
3. Identify the ACDB type (MAFI 0-Share
or 1-Share)

4. Put the manual switch to OFF 5. Untighten plastic bolts at all corners of the
position and turn it OFF all breakers ACDB and then remove the cover safely

© 2022 Nokia Deploy SE A.R Confidential

AC Power Connection Implementation
6. Connect 1*16mm2 YG grounding cable at both ends of ACDB and equipment busbars (Also use 1*16mm2 for
ACDB stand grounding)

Equipment
Bus bar
Note: Connect 1*25mm2 YG grounding at both ends of Rectifier and equipment bus bars

7. Connect AC power cable at both ends of Energy

Meter and ACDB input (ACDB I/P:N, L1,L2,L3)

© 2022 Nokia Deploy SE A.R Confidential

AC Power Connection Implementation
Remarks:
Use cable to cable connector at the EEU energy meter side and keep cables color coding uniform at all termination points (Use
L1-Yellow, L2-Red, L3-Black, N- Blue at sides of Energy Meter, ATS, ACDB input and rectifier input).
Note: If purchased cable’s color doesn’t match with the proposed one, use appropriate heat shrink tubes to do so. Always use
the smallest core size of AC power cable for neutral connection.

8. Connect AC power cable at both ends of ACDB output and Rectifier

Vertiv Rect. ENETEK Rect.

AC Power Connection Implementation
Remarks:
Minimum bending radius of the cables should 8 times of their overall radius or 12 times of individual cable
diameters
9. Make sure that all the connections are tighten well, all the breakers are in OFF position including
rectifier main input CB and then, switch ON the energy meter breakers
10. Measure the voltage readings of incoming supply at input ACDB (Terminal 1-4)

The cable color code used here is not

correct and used to show the voltage
measurement points only
Measure (Note: T1>>N, T2>>L1, T3>>L2, T4>>L3)
1. L1-N, L2-N, L3-N (Single Phase: Nominal Voltage 220V)
2. L1-L2, L2-L3, L1-L3 (Three Phase : Nominal Voltage 380V)

10. Turn OFF back the energy meter breakers and then, switch ON ACDB Manual
Switch (No need to cover it at this step and plier can be used carefully but the
actual position looks like as shown below)

ON Position

AC Power Connection Implementation

10. Turn ON back the energy meter

11. Turn ON Load and Rectifier Breakers labelled on cover as “LOAD BREAKER” and
“RECTIFIER” respectively.

Remark: ACDB breaker arrangement

for MAFI 1-Share and 0-Share are
different as already mentioned

AC Power Connection Implementation

12. Measure the voltage readings at output terminal of labeled as “Rectifier” within ACDB
Case 1: MAFI 1-Share ACDB (Terminal 9-12) (T9-L1, T10-L2, T11-L3, T12-N)
Case 2: MAFI 0-Share ACDB (Terminal 5-8)  (T5-L1, T6-L2, T7-L3, T8-N)

The cable color code used here is not

correct and used to show the voltage
measurement points only
Measure
1. L1-N, L2-N, L3-N (Single Phase: Nominal Voltage 220V)
2. L1-L2, L2-L3, L1-L3 (Three Phase : Nominal Voltage 380V)

AC Power Connection Implementation

13. Measure the voltage readings at rectifier main CB input (If at step 12, it is Okay)

The cable color code used here is not

correct and used to show the voltage
measurement points only
Measure
1. L1-N, L2-N, L3-N (Single Phase: Nominal Voltage 220V)
2. L1-L2, L2-L3, L1-L3 (Three Phase : Nominal Voltage 380V)

14. Now turn OFF back all the breakers including energy meter
breakers and back the ACDB cover and tighten it correctly

15. Now all the breakers starting from energy meter to

rectifier input main CB can be turned ON step by step
16. Finally, check all the rectifiers are working correctly
17. COMPLETED !
