downstream and returns back to the starting point in 8 hours , find the speed of the boat in still water and the

15. A boat covers 32 km upstream and 36 km downstream in7 hours .Also it covers 40 km upstream and 48 km

16. A man travels 370 km partly by train an dpartly by car. If the covers 250 km by train and the rest by car, it
takes him 4 hours .but , if he travels 130 km by train and the rest by car, he takes 18 minutes longer. Fin the
speed of the train and that of the car (Ans: 100km/hr, 80km/hr)
17. Place A and B are 80 Km apart from each other on a highway. A car starts from A and another from B at the
same time. If they move in the same direction with different velocities they meet in 8 hours and if they move
 in opposite direction towards each other they meet in1 hour 20 minutes. Find the speed of the cars. (Ans:

18. The ratio of incomes of two persons is 9:7 and ratio of their expenditure 4:3 , if each of them saves Rs2000 per
month, find

19. 8 mens and 12 boys can finish a piece of work in 10 days while 6 men and 8 boys can finish in 14 days . find the
time taken by one man alone and that by one boy alone to finish the work. (Ans:140,280)
20. At a certain time in a tiger park, the number of heads and the number legs of tiger and human visitors were
counted and it was found that there were 39 heads and 132 legs. Find the number of tigers and human
visitors in the parks.(Ans:27,12)
21. The students of a class are made to stand in rows. If 3 students are extra in a row, there would be 1 row less. If
3 students are less in a row there would be 2 rows more. Find the number of students in the class. (Ans: 36)

26.A man has certain notes of denomination Rs20 and Rs 5 which amount to Rs380. If the
number of notes of each kind are interchanged, they amount to Rs60 less than before.
Find the number of notes of each denomination. (ans : 16 and 12)
27.There are three temples,u have to offer flowers in all the three temples,condition is
that a pond is there in front of all the three temples in before entering to temple you
have to wash the flowers in the pond,when you wsh the flowers they will become
double,you can purchase the flower only once,and u have to offer equal numbers of
flowers in all the three temples and finally you should have no flower remaining with
you, find how many flowers will you purchase at the beginning so that no flower
remain left at the end ?
