The document discusses innovative facades for passive cooling using wet curtain systems. It works by evaporating water from porous curtains on building exteriors, lowering ambient temperatures. The system offers advantages like being energy efficient, improving air quality, and being inexpensive compared to traditional cooling. The conclusion states it is a viable solution for areas with limited energy access since it only requires motor power.

INNOVATIVE FACADES FOR PASSIVE COOLING.

Passive cooling is more of a challenge than ever, given the rapidly changing climatic conditions around the world. With temperatures
soaring and more deaths happening owing to uncontrolled heat gain, it is imperative to make cooling solutions accessible to
individuals who cannot afford the present solutions available in the market. Passive cooling is a good solution for the same, as it is
both low energy and efficient.

INTRODUCTION
Passive cooling using wet curtain systems, also
known as evaporative cooling or swamp cooling,
is a technique that utilizes the principles of
evaporation to lower the ambient temperature in a
building or space. It is an energy-efficient and
cost-effective method commonly used in arid or
dry climates to provide cooling without the need
for mechanical refrigeration.The basic principle

decrease in temperature.Wet curtain systems
take advantage of this phenomenon by creating a
large surface area of moistened material through
which air can pass, allowing for enhanced
evaporation and cooling.

ADVANTAGES
WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF? Passive cooling with wet curtain systems offers
several advantages.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Firstly, it is an energy-efficient method since it requires
only a fraction of the energy consumed by traditional air
conditioning systems. It relies on the natural process of

systems.

CONCLUSION
Due to the fact that the only energy required for this system will be for the motors to rotate the curtain to soak in water, it is a viable solution for areas with not
much access to energy. The energy needed to run the motor can be generated using solar energy.
