The return to captivity: re-enslavement practices in Minas Gerais in the 19th century (Sep 2022 - Present)

• This project is historical-documentary research to understand the conditions in which the attempts to re-enslave
part of the emancipated population took place, in several regions of Minas Gerais, throughout the 19th century,
which contains Civil and Criminal Actions, Emancipations, Purchase and Sale, Inventories and wills already
transcribed and others to be identified and transcribed in several Minas Gerais public archives. Assisted in the
research project, conducting primary and secondary source research.

Itinerancies and metamorphoses of African and Afrodiasporic thought (Mar 2020 - Present)
Advisor: Dr. Alexandre Almeida Marcussi, UFMG, Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil
• This research project aims to analyze the production of African and Afro-diasporic intellectuals who sought to
critically discuss European colonialism and imperialism on the African continent and in the Americas, as well as
question the centrality of European territories and political forms in the construction of modernity. Assisted in the

Portal EmRedes and the Halim Souki Collection: The city revealed by foreign eyes (Apr - Dec 2021)

• Project with the objective of identifying, cleaning and cataloging Halim Souki's collection, with around 500
photos, in which he records urban scenes, religious festivals, popular movements in the municipality of
Divinópolis. Cleaning and organizing the collection, in addition to cataloging and publishing it at <

Social Memory and Cultural Heritage of the Congadeiros and Reinadeiros of the Feast of Our Lady of the
Rosary in Bom Despacho – Minas Gerais (Mar 2017 - Dec 2019)

• The project had as its scope the registration of the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary in Bom Despacho – MG.
Production of videos and photos of the record of the party, conducting interviews with congadeiros and
reinadeiros, researching primary and secondary sources. Participated on exhibit team to develop core content.

The black trajectory told and sung through samba (Mar - Dec 2018)

• The project aims to recognize samba as one of the cultural manifestations of resistance of the black people in
our history in the affirmation of their culture and identity. Assisted in the research project by conducting research
on primary and secondary sources. Presented the project to students from public schools in the state.
