Hood Adjustment

1. Front Grille Cover - Remove

2. Hood - Adjust

1. Slightly loosen the hood hinge mounting bolts (A, B) and the hood latch mounting bolts (C).

2. Adjust the hood (D) alignment in the following sequence:

Adjust the hood right and left, as well as forward and rearward, by using the elongated holes in the hood hinges (E).
Turn the hood edge cushions (F), in or out as necessary, to make the hood fit flush with the body at the front and side
edges.

3. Adjust the hood latch (G) to obtain the proper height at the forward edge, and move the latch right or left until the striker (H) is
centered in the latch.

4. Tighten each bolt to the specified torque.

5. Check that the hood opens properly and closes securely.

6. Apply the touch-up paint to the hinge mounting bolts and around the hinges, and let the paint dry.

7. Apply the multipurpose grease to the hood latch and the

hood hinges as indicated by the arrows.

2. Adjust the trunk lid (C) alignment in the following sequence:

Adjust the trunk lid hinges (D) right and left, as well as forward and rearward, by using the elongated holes. Take care not
to hit the rear window when loosening the bolts.
Turn the trunk lid edge cushions (E), in or out as necessary, to make the trunk lid fit flush with the body at the rear and
side edges.
Adjust the fit between the trunk lid and the trunk lid opening by moving the striker (F).

3. Tighten each bolt to the specified torque.

4. Make sure the trunk lid opens properly and locks securely.

2. Trunk Lid Torsion Bar - Remove

1. Remove the trunk lid torsion bars (A) from the trunk lid
torsion bar clip (B).

2. Remove the trunk lid torsion bars (A) with the torsion bar
assembly tool from both trunk lid hinges as shown.

3. If necessary, remove the trunk lid torsion bar holders (A)

and the trunk lid torsion bar slider (B).

4. If necessary, remove the trunk lid torsion bar clip (A).

3. All Removed Parts - Install

1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: Locate the painted alignment mark (A) on the trunk

lid weatherstrip (B). Align the painted mark in the center of
the trunk lid opening, and install the weatherstrip all the way
around in the direction shown. Make sure there are no
wrinkles in the weatherstrip.

2-door 1. Carefully pry off the trunk light (A) to the side to release the
hook and pull out the light.

2. Disconnect the connector (B).

3. Remove the bulb (C) from the trunk light.

1. Trunk Light - Test

NOTE: When doing the trunk light test, make sure to install the
bulb correctly.

1. Check the light according to the table.

NOTE: Note this important operating characteristic; diode

bias causes a diode to fully conduct electricity in one
direction (forward), while not at all in the opposite direction
(reverse).

2. If the result is not as specified, replace the bulb or trunk

light (A).

NOTE: The under-hood fuse/relay box is a part of the engine compartment wire harness, and it cannot be replaced by itself.

1. PCM - Remove

2. 12 Volt Battery Terminal - Disconnect

3. Relay Circuit Board - Remove

4. Under-Hood Fuse/Relay Box - Remove

1. Disconnect the cables (A).

2. Remove the under-hood fuse/relay box (B) from the bracket

(C).

3. Cut the bands (D).

4. Remove the bottom covers (E) from the under-hood

fuse/relay box.

5. Remove the fuse(s) (F).

6. Carefully remove the relays using the relay puller tool.

NOTE: Do not use pliers. Pliers will damage the relays,

which could cause the engine to stall, not start, or cause
other functions to fail.
