Abstract
The field of graphic design depends highly on typography as a fundamental element in visual

communication. However, many students face challenges in understanding and applying

typography effectively due to the complexity and inaccessibility of existing international

typography guidebooks. These resources are often designed for a global audience, making them

too advanced and technical for beginners or those with limited knowledge of typography. The

lack of suitable educational materials tailored to the needs of students delays their ability to grasp

essential typographic concepts and apply them in their design projects.

To address this gap, there is a desperate need for a typography beginner guidebook

specifically designed for students of graphic design. Such a guidebook would aim to simplify

complex typography concepts, provide clear explanations, offer real-life examples, and include

practical exercises that serve students at various skill levels. By making typography more

accessible and engaging for beginners, this guidebook can bridge the gap between the

complexity of international resources and the clarity required for effective learning.

The development of a typography beginner guidebook holds significant potential in empowering

students to build a strong foundation in typography, enhance their design skills, and

communicate their ideas visually with confidence. By offering a user-friendly resource that

breaks down difficult concepts and provides practical guidance, this guidebook can support

students in mastering typography basics and developing their unique design style. Ultimately, the

creation of a dedicated typography guidebook for students is crucial in expanding typography

knowledge, promoting inclusive design education.
