Pinoy Henyo: The English Version Mechanics

1. This activity is open Ior all bonaIied students oI De La Salle Araneta University
2. The aims Ior this contest are to enhance the oral communication skills oI all the students using the English language.
Moreover, it develops the listening skills oI students, promotes teamwork and time under pressure.
3. A group will consist oI 2 members. Each group will pay P50.00 Ior the registration Iee.
4. Groups are composed oI 2 members: the one who will guess the word/phrase and the
other is the one who will respond to the guesser.
5. The group`s name will be called and must go to the stage. They will pick a number and
that number corresponds to a word/phrase that they will be guessing.
6. There will be 2 rounds Ior this game. The elimination round wherein all the groups will guess the mystery word that
they have picked. Then, the Iinal round in which top 5 groups will play to guess the phrase they chose.
7. The guesser will be blindIolded Iurthermore the group must sit three meters away Irom
each other to avoid cheating.
8. They will be given strictly 2 minutes only to guess the word/ Phrase. The timer will start
automatically aIter the word/phrase is seen
9. It is strictly implemented that the group must speak the English Language in questioning and answering/replying back
until they Iinally guess the word/phrase. Ones they speak in Filipino, 5 seconds would be added to their end time.
10. II it so, the one who will respond must only say:YES,NO, andMAYBE. There will be
no other words to answer or else 5 seconds will be added to their time.
11. When the group Iinally guesses the word, the timer will be stopped and the recorder will note the group`s time. II
they have deductions, it would be added to their end time. the computed end time would be the Iinal result oI their
end time.
12. All the groups who reach the time and did not guess the mystery word/phrase will be
automatically eliminated
13. AIter elimination round, the recorder will tally the time and will get the top 5 Iastest
group who will step to the Iinal round
14. In the Iinal round, the steps will be the same as the elimination round but instead oI guessing the word, they guesser
will guess a phrase. The replier now will say some examples oI that phrase so that the guesser would have an idea
what would be the phrase.
15. The 3 Iastest groups who will guess the phrase wins the game and gets the prize.
16. People/groups caught coaching or cheating will be automatically disqualiIied.
17. Tie Breaker: Ior the groups who have the same end time, they will be guessing another
word. The group with the shortest time oI guessing will proceed to the Iinal round.
18. The 3 groups with the shortest time oI guessing will be awarded as: 3rd placer, 2nd
placer, and Champion. Winners will receive certiIicates and trophies

How To Play Pinoy Henyo

SInce sobrang damI ng nagtatanong kung paano mag laro ng PInoy Henyo (okay,
dalawa lang sIla, pero more than one Is many) ay Ipopost ko na ang InstructIons.

1. Pwedeng laruIn ng 2 tao o ng 2 teams wIth even number of members. 8asta pag
teams ang labanan, dapat may representatIve.

2. Kumuha ng strIps of paper at mag sulat ng kahIt anong word. KahIt ano talaga.
Example; 7aselIne, cellphone, 8oys Dver Flowers, jerjer. Kung ano ang Isusulat mo
ang huhulaan ng kalaban mo.

J. SwItch turns hulaan. Sa hulaan, puro questIons answerable by yes or no lang. Una
syempre, general ang questIons hangang magIng specIfIc. Hangang mahulaan.

4. Kaya dapat out of thIs world ang mga words mo. Pero wag naman gaya ng
Neanderthal man o paleontologIst. HIrap na nun masyado.

5. 8ahala na kayo mag set ng tIme, pero okay na ang 2 mInutes. At syempre,
paramIhan ng nahulaan na words. :)
