Scenario:
Book Shop needs to create a system to keep a record of the available books, upcoming books,
latest magazines, fiction stories, science books, religious magazines, and daily newspapers. This
sales and inventory management system is intended to be used at the counter in the bookstore.
Every new customer (who will buy the books and stuff) will be registered in the system so that
some promotional messages can be delivered to them.
The senior staff member of the bookstore will be responsible for registering the sales, updating
records, customer registration, etc. However, there is a restriction on the usage of this system for
any other person working in the bookshop or visiting it. Once a new sale is recorded, the
customer will be given an invoice containing the name of the customer, phone number, details of
the purchase made, return date if any, and total price.
In this assignment, understand the above scenario of the bookshop, and then answer the
following questions:

Q1) Write a “vision statement” for the above system?


Ans: Vision Statement:
"The goal is to create an easy-to-use system to manage sales and inventory in stores. The system
will help us keep track of books, magazines and newsletters, send personalized messages to our
customers and create detailed information. Senior staff will have access rights to these. Ensure
system security and accuracy."
Q2) Find out all the user classes of the above system and categorize them as favored, dis-
favored, and ignored?
Favored Class:
 Senior Staff Member : These members use system for all tasks like Sales, Update and
Customer registration.
Unfavored Class:
 Junior Staff Member: Help in bookstore but cannot use the system.
 Customers: Shop from bookstore but do not access the system.

Ignored Class:
 Supplier: They deliever books at Bookshop but do not use the system.
 Technicians: Fix the Things but do not use the system daily.

Q3) For the disfavored user class of the system, also mention how you will restrict the
disfavored user classes to stop using the system?

 Junior Staff Member


Access Control: Only senior staff have login credentials.
User Roles: Set permission for senior staff, so the senior staff can access the system.
Monitoring: Monitize the all systems daily to ensure the unauthorized access.
 Customers
Physical Security: Place all system of the store at same position where customers have no
access the system.

Q4) Can the senior staff member become the product champion? Justify your answer.
Write a Persona of the staff member.

Yes, the Senior staff Member can be the Product Champion because it will use the system daily
and knows that what the system needs. This person know the need of the bookstore when he use
the system regularly. When he know everything then expalin what’s needed to the developers and
ensure that the system works well.
