Police have arrested one more suspect in the J Dey murder
case. J Dey, a senior reporter with Mid Day, was shot dead
allegedly at the behest oI Iugitive gangster Chhota Rajan
last month. 'The Uttarakhand police have arrested Deepak
Sisodiya Irom Kathgodam, Nainital. He has admitted that
he supplied weapons to Arun Dake and Satish Kalya |two
other accused arrested in the case|, Mumbai Joint
Commissioner oI Police (Crime) Himanshu Roy said here
on Tuesday.
With this, the total number oI arrests in this case has gone
up to nine. The provisions oI the Maharashtra Control oI
Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) have been invoked in the
case.
Mr. Roy said Sisodiya, a 25-year-old member oI the
Chhota Rajan gang, is also an arms supplier. He said no
cases were registered against him in Mumbai. Sources said
Chhota Rajan had a strong network in Uttarakhand.

Claiming Iurther leads in the murder oI crime journalist J Dey, Mumbai police on Tuesday said that the notorious
underworld don and Dawood Ibrahim`s Iriend-turned-Ioe, Chhota Rajan is behind the killing.
Talking to media persons, Mumbai deputy commissioner oI police said, 'An underworld gang was threatened by Dey`s
reporting and planned to kill him.
He Iurther said, 'Underworld don Chhota Rajan is charged with Dey`s murder under Maharashtra Control oI Organised
Crime Act (MCOCA) and will appear as a co-accused.
It should be noted that the Maharashtra police had earlier invoked MCOCA on all the eight arrested in the murder case oI
Jyotirmoy Dey.
According to police, MCOCA provisions can be applied, iI at least two members oI an organised crime gang have at least
two chargesheets registered against them.
The investigative journalist was shot dead in broad daylight at Powai June 11. Dey was editor (special investigations) oI
Mumbai tabloid /, and specialised in reporting on the underworld.
Among the eight arrested most prominent is the aide oI underworld don Chhota Rajan - Vinod Asrani alias Vinod Chembur.
Other seven are Rohee Thangappan Joseph alias Satish Kalya (34) and his associates Abhijeet Shinde (28), Arun Dake (27),
Sachin Gaikwad (27), Anil Waghmode (35), Nilesh Shendge (34) and Mangesh Agawane (25).
Known Ior his deep knowledge oI the city`s underworld and extensive network oI inIormers, Dey had led a team oI crime
and investigative reporters and had authored books on diIIerent gangs, involved in carrying out organised crime in the city.
