PART A : Independent Learning (NF2F)

(Student must do this task at home or before entering a computer lab)

1. Explain the 10 types of camera shots

1. Extreme Long Shot (ELS): This shot shows a vast landscape or setting, often used to
establish a location or environment.
2. Long Shot (LS): In this shot, the subject is seen from a distance, showing more of the
surroundings while still capturing the full body of the subject.
3. Medium Long Shot (MLS): This shot is closer than a long shot but still captures the subject and
some of the surrounding environment.
4. Medium Shot (MS): The medium shot frames the subject from the waist up, providing a more
detailed view while still showing body language and expressions.
5. Medium Close-Up (MCU): This shot frames the subject from the chest or shoulders up,
focusing more on facial expressions and emotions.
6. Close-Up (CU): In a close-up shot, the subject's face or a specific detail is prominently featured,
emphasizing emotions or important details.
7. Extreme Close-Up (ECU): This shot focuses on a very small detail, like an eye or a hand,
creating intimacy and highlighting specific elements.
8. Over-the-Shoulder Shot (OTS): This shot is taken from behind one character, showing the
perspective of another character looking at them.
9. Point-of-View Shot (POV): The camera shows the scene from the perspective of a character,
often used to immerse the audience in the character's experience.
10. Aerial Shot: This shot is taken from a drone or helicopter, providing a bird's-eye view of the
scene, location, or action.

2. List and Explain the Premiere Pro’s Workspace Layout

1. Project Panel: This panel is where you import, organize, and manage your media files
such as video clips, audio files, images, and sequences. It's like a library for your project
assets.
2. Source Monitor: The Source Monitor allows you to preview and select clips from your project
panel before adding them to your timeline. You can set in and out points here for specific parts of
a clip.
3. Program Monitor: The Program Monitor displays the content of your timeline. It shows the
sequence of clips, transitions, effects, and any other elements that make up your video project.
4. Timeline Panel: The Timeline Panel is where you arrange and edit your clips to create your
video sequence. You can add multiple tracks for video, audio, text, and effects.
5. Tools Panel: This panel contains various tools for editing, trimming, selecting, and manipulating
clips on the timeline. Examples include the Selection Tool, Razor Tool, and Pen Tool.
6. Effect Controls Panel: The Effect Controls Panel displays the properties and settings of clips or
effects that you select on the timeline. You can adjust parameters such as scale, position, opacity,
and apply effects here.
7. Audio Mixer Panel: The Audio Mixer Panel allows you to adjust and mix the audio levels of
different tracks in your timeline. You can also apply audio effects and transitions here.
8. Metadata Panel: This panel displays the metadata information associated with your media files,
such as file names, resolution, duration, and more. It's useful for organizing and managing media
assets.
9. Tools and Effects Panel: This panel contains a wide range of tools, effects, transitions, and
presets that you can use to enhance and customize your video project.
10. Workspaces: Premiere Pro offers different predefined workspaces tailored for specific tasks like
editing, color grading, audio mixing, and more. You can also create custom workspaces to
arrange panels according to your preference.
3. List and Explain Tools Palette
1. Selection Tool (V): This is the default tool used for selecting and moving clips in the
timeline.
2. Track Select Forward Tool (A) and Track Select Backward Tool (Shift+A): These tools
allow you to select all clips from a specified point in the timeline either forward or backward,
making it easier to move or edit multiple clips at once.
3. Razor Tool (C): The Razor Tool is used to cut clips at specific points on the timeline, allowing
you to split them into separate segments.
4. Hand Tool (H): The Hand Tool is used for panning or moving around the timeline when zoomed
in, especially helpful for navigating larger projects.
5. Zoom Tool (Z): The Zoom Tool lets you zoom in and out of the timeline for precise editing or to
get a broader view of your project.
6. Pen Tool (P): The Pen Tool is used for creating keyframes and adjusting motion paths for effects
such as position, scale, and rotation.
7. Type Tool (T): This tool allows you to create and edit text directly in the Program Monitor,
useful for adding titles, captions, or other text elements to your video.
8. Rate Stretch Tool (R): The Rate Stretch Tool lets you adjust the speed and duration of a clip by
stretching or compressing it without changing its in and out points.
9. Slip Tool (Y): The Slip Tool allows you to adjust the in and out points of a clip within its
duration without changing its position in the timeline.
10. Slide Tool (U): The Slide Tool moves a clip's in and out points along the timeline, effectively
shifting its position while maintaining its duration.

4. Explain how to export project in premiere to movie file

1. Complete Your Editing: Ensure that you have finished editing your video project and
that everything is arranged as you want it in the timeline.
2. Set the Work Area: If you only want to export a specific portion of your project, set the work
area bar (the yellow bar above the timeline) to cover that section. If you want to export the entire
timeline, you can skip this step.
3. Navigate to the Export Settings:
• Go to the "File" menu.
• Select "Export" and then choose "Media" (or use the shortcut Ctrl+M on Windows or
Cmd+M on Mac).
4. Choose Export Settings:
• In the Export Settings window that appears, first, select the format you want to export to.
Common formats include H.264 for web or MP4 for general use.
• Choose a Preset or customize the settings manually. Presets are predefined
configurations that optimize settings for different output types (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo,
etc.).
5. Adjust Video Settings:
• In the Video tab, adjust settings such as resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and codec. These
settings depend on your specific requirements and the platform where you intend to
upload or share your video.
6. Adjust Audio Settings (if necessary):
• In the Audio tab, you can adjust settings like audio codec, sample rate, bitrate, and
channel configuration.
7. Set Output Name and Location:
• Below the settings, you'll find the Output Name field. Click on the "Output Name" text
or the filename to specify where you want to save the exported file and give it a name.
• Choose the destination folder where you want to save the file.
8. Preview and Queue (optional):
• You can click on the "Queue" button to add the export job to Adobe Media Encoder if
you prefer to use Media Encoder for exporting. This step is optional, and you can
directly export from Premiere Pro without using Media Encoder.
9. Start Exporting:
• Once you've set all the export settings and chosen the output location, click on the
"Export" button to start the export process. Premiere Pro will render the video based on
your settings and save it to the specified location.
10. Monitor Export Progress:
• You'll see a progress bar indicating the export status. Depending on the length and
complexity of your project, this process can take some time.

Discussion for Practical 1:
In today’s practical work, I’ve learned to edit a a video from clips and sound given using Adobe Premiere Pro
platform as told by lecturer. I also learnt to put on some text, transitions, add sound, edit by layers and so much
more. Adobe Premiere Pro is primarily designed for video editing, but it can also be used in interactive multimedia
applications, especially when combined with other Adobe software like Adobe Animate or Adobe XD. While Premiere
Pro is not a dedicated tool for interactive multimedia development, it can play a significant role in creating and editing
video content for use in interactive applications when combined with other Adobe tools and development
frameworks. At last, a well edited videos can attract more viewers to give their full attention to watch it from the
beginning until the end.
Conclusion for Practical 1:
From this practical work, I’ve learned that editing such attractive and cinematic video play an important role to attract
and encourage more people to watch and understand the videos carefully. I also understand that Adobe Premiere
Pro offers valuable capabilities for editing video content within interactive multimedia applications. It allows for
seamless integration of video elements with interactive features such as clickable buttons, hotspots, and overlays. By
combining Premiere Pro with other Adobe software like Animate or XD, developers can create engaging interactive
experiences with rich multimedia content, making Premiere Pro a versatile tool for interactive multimedia application
development.
