When Windows finishes installing, you will be prompted to create a password for the
Administrator user account. Set it to P@ssw0rd123. This is not a secure password by any
means and should never be used in a production environment. However, we are working in
a lab environment and standard passwords make troubleshooting issues easier.

Take a screenshot of your machine and insert the picture here:

b. How many replies did you get? _____________

c. Ping has many options to be used with it. Use this command to get 7 requests

of ping instead of the default ones “ping -n 7 www.google.ca”.

d. How many replies did you get now? __________________

e. Another option is to use -t to ping anything unlimited times or until manually

stopped. Use “ping -t www.google.ca”. Stop your command using “CTRI + C”

f. Use tracert www.google.ca (take a screenshot of the result and place it

b. Ping your local address. How many replies did you get? ________________

c. The loopback address is 127.0.0.1, this is used to check your network

Backing up your Virtual Machines
Now that you have successfully installed one virtual machine, it is a clever idea to back it up.
Hardware fails sometimes, either through manufacturing defect or human error. Files can
become corrupt, which is exactly what your virtual machines are. Additionally, if you
accidentally break your system while learning to configure something it’s nice to have a
backup to roll back to.
You should keep a copy of your backups in two locations. For professional backups in
industry this means one on site and the other off site. While you do not have multiple sites
to deal with, you can implement a version of this that makes sense for our use. Keep one
copy of the backup on your SSD. Keep a second copy of that backup on a separate USB flash
drive; or copy it to your personal computer’s hard drive. You should make a backup of your
virtual machines after every lab.
To Back up your Windows VM. Create a snapshot of your win2022 VM. You should also
create copies of your VMs on an additional media, such as a USB flash drive.
III) Snapshot bootup
a. Try logging in from your snapshot.
b. Take a screenshot and place it below.

Take a screenshot of your machine and insert the picture here:
