COURSE OBJECTIVES

This module aims to provide knowledge, methods, and


algorithms in planning and scheduling in supply chain and
logistics systems. Students grasp scheduling models, algorithms for
solving simple-to-complex scheduling problems. Know how to
use moderation models in the field of logistics. In addition, students
will be equipped with skills to search related documents, learn
about the types of moderation problems in practice.

TEAMWORK PROJECT 1: PROGRAMING


Your team have to code a scheduling software that could
introduce the priority of the jobs on single machine with following
requirements:
- Conduct at least 05 disparching rules that could be solve the basic
examples or practice problems on the classes.
- The software has basic functions such as Input Data, Save, Open Data,
Draw Gantt Chart, …
- Provide friendly interface, comfortable use for the users
- Export the friendly reports for operators.
The team have to:
- Submit the printed report and present results at the class.
- All team members have to know how and explain the code of the
software.

SCHEDULING IN SUPPLY CHAIN
I. Objectives
o Enhance the self-study skill
o More deeply understand about the scheduling models and methodology to solve the supply chain
scheduling problems.
o Have an opportunity to improve teamwork, presentation, and critical thinking skills.
II. Requirements
o Team would be assigned randomly one of the following topics. They are mentioned in the texbook
“Pinedo, M. L. (2014). Planning and scheduling in manufacturing and services. Springer.” And
study at least one relative paper.
The team have to show your presentation on the class with the suggested topics as in the Table:

Note: all team members have to attend the presentation time (team scores would be reduced 50% if
any member of the team is absence.
