 LCF life of gas turbine casing under start up, base load, and shutdown conditions.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Strength analysis and fatigue life evaluation.

Description: This project is about a Strength analysis and fatigue life evaluation of an automotive frame
structure(chassis) subjected to different load cases. The thickness of the chassis plates can be optimized to achieve
the required stress levels. The stresses developed in the chassis for the different load cases are utilized to run a
fatigue analysis using ANSYS software.
Responsibilities: Coordinated the work among the team. Analyzed the problem for 3 loading cases using ANSYS, looked
into the stresses developed to check whether the design is safe. Technology used: ANSYS, Hypermesh, Solidworks.

Modelling and Simulation of Rubber Bushing in predicting hyperelastic material model.

Description: This thesis is about Modelling and simulation of rubber bushing for different static load cases
and parameters identification of hyperelastic models and validation of force-displacement curves with the
test data for describing the characteristics of rubber material required for MBS.
Technology used: UG-NX, Hypermesh, Abaqus solver, HyperView and Hypergraph.

Internship/ Industrial Training:

Project : Internship training at Manufacturing and Assembly of wide range of Train and Metro Coaches,
Research and Development Department. BEML BANGALORE.
Description : Learnt about Machine shop, Sheet metal, Material Preparation Lab, under frame, Bogie and also
known about CNC Flame cutting and pretreatment lab, Industrial Training at Transmission Group,
Design and Drawing Department.
Project : Study on Leak Testing Machine Variants carried out at SYSCON Instruments Private Limited,
Bangalore.
Description : Understood the mechanism of different leak testing machines used to identify any minute cracks
in the given component and working nature of the company.
Project : Project titled “Modelling and Simulation of Rubber Bushing under Differential Static Load
Conditions using FEM” at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Private Limited,
Description : learnt about behavior of rubber material and parameter identification of different hyperelastic
and viscoelastic models required for MBS. During my 8 months Internship tenure and also learnt
editing Abaqus input files, Hypermesh and HyperView tools required for the project.
