Introduction
Thank you for your interest in the GAIT certification program. GAIT evaluates your
knowledge, skills and understanding of IT related to Database, OS, Application,
Storage, Security, Network and Virtualization.
The GAIT certification program was developed by Japan Third Party Co., Ltd. (JTP).
GAIT does not delegate its decisions relating to the GAIT certification program and
is solely responsible for and retains authority over all decisions related to
certification, including the granting, maintaining, recertifying, expanding and
reducing the scope of the certification, and suspending or withdrawing certification.
JTP and GAIT are committed to safeguarding impartiality and ensuring integrity of
the certification scheme.
All general inquiries regarding the GAIT certification program are handled by GAIT,
with headquarters located in Tokyo, Japan.

Statement of Understanding
To become GAIT certified, all Candidates must agree to the Statement of
Understanding as follows:
I confirm that I have read, understand and will abide by all terms and conditions of
the GAIT certification program as described in this Handbook. If any statement
made on my application or hereafter supplied to GAIT is false or inaccurate, or if I
violate any other rules or regulations, I acknowledge and agree that the penalties
for doing so include, but are not limited to: denial of certification, or suspension of,
revocation of, or the placement of limitations upon, my certification (if already
granted).
I understand that GAIT and/or its testing agents reserve the right to refuse my
admission to test if I do not have the proper identification, or if I do not report at the
appropriate time. If I am refused admission for any of these reasons or if I fail to
appear at the test site as scheduled, I will not receive a refund of the examination
fee and there will be no credit transferred to future examinations. I recognize that
the invigilator(s) at my assigned test site are required to maintain proper and secure
test administration conditions and I will follow their instructions. I will not attempt to
communicate in any way with other examinees or any outside parties during the
examination. I will not bring any outside materials into the testing site, including
reference materials, notes, photographic or communication devices, or calculators
with user-programmable memory capacity.

aids of any type during a testing session; copying from notes or from another
examinee during a testing session; speaking or otherwise communicating with
others during a testing session; copying, photographing, transcribing, or otherwise
reproducing test materials; removing test materials from the examination room;
aiding other examinees or receiving aid from anyone else; or having improper
access to Certification examination content prior to the examination administration.
Engaging in such misconduct may disqualify me from all future examinations and
from ever being certified by GAIT.
I understand and agree that if I do not follow the terms and conditions of GAIT
Certification Program I will be subjected to disciplinary actions. Disciplinary actions
may include, but not limited to the following: refusal to participate in GAIT
examination, canceling my examination score, refusal to issue a GAIT certificate,
suspending or revoking a GAIT certificate, imposing an administrative fine or
imposing a fine for damages and/or losses. I understand that GAIT owns the
certificate and I will return it to GAIT if requested to do so.

1. Examination Information
The GAIT certification examination was developed based on the results of a
job-task analysis study using a psychometrically valid process. The examination
was developed by subject-matter experts and is designed to measure the
knowledge, skills and understanding of IT related to Database, OS, Application,
Storage, Security, Network and Virtualization.
Questions are single response multiple choice items and multiple response
multiple choice items.

1.2 Duration
Candidates have fifty-two (52) minutes to complete the examination.
1.3 Language
The GAIT certification examination is available in English, Japanese and
Chinese languages.
1.4 Fee
The GAIT certification fee is one-hundred and twenty (120) US Dollars.
Candidates must pay in full prior to the examination.
The GAIT certification fee is collected from the candidate at the time of
registration and candidates may pay the GAIT certification fee by credit card.

1.6 Training
GAIT does not provide training or preparatory materials, nor does it offer or
endorse training programs or preparatory courses. Candidates are
encouraged to plan their own course of study by reviewing the examination
blueprint, identifying any areas of weakness, and securing the necessary
resources to adequately prepare for the examination.
JTP offers IT training and education, however, GAIT does not promote or
endorse use of JTP’s training or education.

2. Scope of Certification
2.1 Scope of Certification
Based on the score attained, Candidates either fail the examination or are
awarded one of three certification proficiency levels.
GAIT certification program does not discriminate on the basis of age, gender,
race, religion, national origin, disability, marital status or sexual orientation.

3. Application Procedures
3.1 Prerequisites
Candidates are required to meet all examination prerequisites prior to
attempting the GAIT certification examinations. Candidates are required to
demonstrate meeting the prerequisites at the examination site. Prerequisites to
attempt the GAIT certification examination include the following:
Candidate must digitally sign the application by checking that the
candidate agrees he or she is applying for the GAIT certification and
that he or she understands the scope of certification.
Candidate must agree that he or she has read and will comply with the
policies and procedures as stated in the Candidate Handbook.
Candidate must agree that he or she has read and understands his or
her rights as a candidate, including appeals and complaints.
Candidate must agree that he or she has read and will comply with the
prerequisites stated in the Candidate Handbook and will provide any
information needed for the assessment.
Candidate must agree to uphold and abide by the GAIT Code of Ethics.
Candidate must agree to abide by the GAIT Non-disclosure Agreement.
Candidate must agree to comply with the stated and approved Policy on
the use of the GAIT logo and certification marks.
Candidate must agree to refrain from use of the certificate if it is
suspended, revoked or withdrawn.
Failure to agree or comply with the above prerequisites results in the candidate
being denied entry to the GAIT examination.
It is a violation of the Code of Ethics for any Candidate for GAIT certification or
any Certified Person to participate in any incident of cheating, breach of
security, misconduct, submission of fraudulent information or any other

behavior that could be considered compromising the integrity or confidentiality
of any GAIT certification examination. All certified persons shall adhere to the
following:
A certified person shall abide by all the terms and conditions of the GAIT
Certification Program.
A certified person shall offer and provide professional services with
integrity.
A certified person shall perform professional services in a manner that is
fair and reasonable to clients, partners and employers, and shall disclose
conflict(s) of interest in providing such services.
A certified person shall not disclose any confidential client information
without the specific written consent of the client.
A certified person will always conduct themselves in a manner which
enhances the image of the profession.
A certified person shall provide services to clients competently and maintain
the necessary knowledge and skill to continue to do so in those areas in
which they are certified.
A certified person shall not solicit clients through false or misleading
communications or advertisements.
In the course of performing professional activities, a certified person shall
not engage in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or
misrepresentation, or knowingly make a false or misleading statement to a
client, employer, employee, professional colleague, governmental or other
regulatory body or official, or any other person or entity.
A certified person shall use the marks and references to certification only as
authorized.
In the event of suspension of certification, certified person will refrain from
further promotion of the certification while it is suspended.
In the event of withdrawal of certification, certified person agrees to refrain
from use all of references to certification status.
A certified person agrees to inform the certification body, without delay, of
matters that can affect the capability to continue to fulfill the certification
requirements.
A certified person shall comply with the relevant provisions of the
certification scheme.
A certified person shall make claims regarding certification only with respect

to the scope for which certification has been granted.
A certified person shall not use the certification in such a manner as to bring
the certification body into disrepute, and will not make any statement
regarding the certification which the certification body considers misleading
or unauthorized.
A certified person shall discontinue the use of all claims to certification that
contain any reference to the certification body or certification upon
suspension or withdrawal of certification, and to return any certificates
issued by the certification body.
A certified person shall not use the certificate in a misleading manner.
Should the Candidate or Certified Person wish to appeal against the decision,
he or she has 30 (thirty) calendar days to file the Appeal Form (Appendix 3)
pursuant to the Appeals Policy (5.7).

in any form or by any means, verbal or written, electronic or mechanical, for
any purpose, without the prior express written permission of GAIT.
Create an Account
The first step in applying for the examination is to create an account at
Prometric Web site and get your own Prometric Testing ID. The Candidate
must keep his or her Prometric ID and password confidential. If you already
have an account you can skip to Schedule an Examination.
First name, last name and current address must be exactly as it appears on
your ID. On the examination day, the Candidates will be required to present
the ID which exactly matches the information on your Prometric account.
Schedule an Examination
To schedule an examination, visit Prometric Web site at

After selecting an examination date and location you will receive on-screen
and an E-mail confirmation. GAIT recommends you save or print all
scheduling verifications.

3.5 Special Accommodation
Reasonable testing accommodations are provided to Candidates with

Send your request to Prometric a minimum of forty-five (45) days prior to the
date you wish to take the exam. This request will not be processed if it is not
accompanied by documentation from an appropriately qualified person stating
the disability related needs.

4. On the Day of the Examination
4.2 Valid ID
Candidates must present valid and acceptable ID at the Test Center
according to Prometric requirements. Candidates can confirm the forms of
acceptable ID at your local Prometric by visiting

The ID must contain the same information with which the Candidate provided
during the application process.

I will refrain from use of the certificate if it is suspended, revoked or
withdrawn.
After the examination, the Candidate will receive testing results which
includes total score and correct answer rate for each field. This preliminary
score report is not official and is a completely different form from the
Certificate.
Within thirty (30) calendar days following the GAIT certification examination,
the Candidate will receive an Official Score Report from GAIT. Individuals who
have met the certification requirements for a level of GAIT certification will be
issued a Certificate stating Bronze, Silver or Gold Level of Certification.
GAIT also reserves the right not to issue a Certificate to ineligible individuals.

b) Candidates must finish the GAIT certification examination without
any help.
c) Candidates are not allowed to communicate with other
Candidates.
d) Candidates cannot leave the examination room without the
Invigilators permission.
e) Candidates are not allowed to record GAIT certification
examination items or make any notes.

5. Certification Program Information
GAIT owns the certificate and score report. If GAIT discovers evidence of
cheating, fraud or any other improper activities, GAIT reserves the right to
suspend or cancel the Candidate’s examination results.
GAIT also reserves the right not to issue a Certificate to ineligible individuals.

5.3 Public Information

Complaints Policy
Any individual who has participated or is participating in GAIT certification
process, and is dissatisfied with the provided service or wishes to report
substantial irregularity during the certification process may ask for remedial
actions.
The Candidate must fill in the Complaint Form (Appendix 2) and submit to
[email protected] within thirty (30) calendar days following the date on which the
Candidate completed GAIT certification examination. Only complaints which

were received within the pre-mentioned timeframe and in the illustrated
process will be reviewed. The Candidate will be provided with a response
within sixty (60) calendar days following the date on which GAIT received the
Complaint Form.
Appeals Policy
Any individual who has participated in or is participating in GAIT the
certification process is provided the opportunity to appeal an adverse decision.
Adverse decisions include but are not limited to: denial of certification or
recertification, sanctions resulting from an investigation of violation of the
Code of Ethics.
The appellant must fill in the Appeal Form (Appendix 3) and submit to
[email protected] within the thirty (30) calendar days following the date on which
the appellant completed the GAIT certification examination. Only appeals
which were received within the pre-mentioned timeframe and in the illustrated
process will be reviewed. The appellant will be provided with a response
within sixty (60) calendar days following the date on which GAIT received the
Appeal Form.
Logo Policy
The logo is strictly prohibited from use in any forms without written permission
from GAIT.

Certification Marks Policy
The certification marks are released to Certified Persons for business or
personal usage including posting on business cards, business letters, resume,
websites, E-mails, and marketing materials. The certification marks shall not
be transformed, rotated or reproduced. The color and size shall not be
modified. To make sure the certification marks are clear and legible, they
must meet the minimum size requirements. Minimum size is 25mm wide. In
business cards application only, the minimum size is 20mm wide. Certified
persons shall not use the certification mark in any misleading manner and are
prohibited from using the certification if it has expired, been revoked or
suspended.
