FINAL RECITATION

1. Meaning of Art to Yourself

Everybody has their own definition of what art is supposed
to be, everybody has their own perspective of what art
really is. For me personally art is a experience, one of the
most powerful things that I see in art is the ability to take
something that is hard to explain and to put it on a piece of
canvas or in sculpture or something to be able to have an
open dialogue with the viewer about what is really going on
within your own life journey and how really the way that
you see the world. What do you believe about something or
what do you struggle about. With what the way you see a
flower versus the way that someone else sees a flower. The
way that you see a color, everyone has a different
interpretation of what color may mean to them and visceral
reaction that they’ll have to a certain color whereas one
person when they see a color red they may see roses and
love and feel fuel expression of tenderness and kindness
while other people they see warning and be careful because
red is color of blood. Whatever the case is, it is a personal
journey that you are sharing with the world. Don’t worry
about the way that other people interpret it, interpret it for
yourself and create it for yourself. Some people will going
to like and connect with it but some people will not going
to like it at all. Everyone has their own definition of what
art means, everyone walked in different shoes experienced
and different life struggle. Everyone experienced life
differently and everybody has their own perspective on
things that they believe are true and things that they don’t
believe are true. Different way of seeing things so we have
different way of seeing art, for me art is beautiful outer
expression of what’s going on, on the inside.

2. Importance of this subject to your life

Art gives meaning to our lives and helps us understand our
world. It is an essential part of our culture because it allows
us to have a deeper understanding of our emotions, it
increases our self-awareness, and also allows us to be open
to new ideas and experiences. Studying art appreciation is
important because it gives us not only a clear understanding
of what daily struggles and successes were, but it allows us
to connect and empathize on an emotional level while also
learning about other culture. We can learn about the art
making techniques of drawing, painting, sculpture,
printmaking, and photography, we can learn the materials
used and the techniques artists most often utilize in their art
making and lastly we can develop an understanding of the
materials and methods of creative expression.

3. Provide one situation how art helps you to develop your

understanding to deep understanding.
When I was in High School all I know is that art is just
coloring, drawing and painting but I was wrong. Art is
everything, art vitalizes problem solving and critical
thinking skills, enlightening us students on how to interpret,
critique and use the visual information we encounter to
make decisions based on our experiences. Art gives a
certain degree of meaning to our lives and Art also allows
for self-expression. Through the arts, I develop skills like
resilience, grit, and a growth mindset to help me master my
craft, do well academically, and succeed in life.
